What you going to do when the KS launches?I thought I might as well get the best cpu I can ever get for my motherboard so what the hell. 14900k ordered and hopefully arriving on Wednesday
If there is a ks version I doubt it’ll be much faster so I’m sure I’ll still be happy with the 14900kWhat you going to do when the KS launches?
If it never arrives then will stick with what i got for the forseeable as tbh the 13900k is not exactly struggling with anything i use it for and running a nice undervolt and is direct die cooled so very happy with it as is .. if the 14900k offered a substantial uplift then would be all over it but it doesn't so will wait to see if the KS arrives which won't be much better but should be an ok jump from a 13900kNo confirmation that 14900KS exists at this point. Power draw would be astronomical for 6.2Ghz
If you're under NDA, you're under NDA. It doesn't matter where the processor came fromHe got the CPU from one of his viewers who received because a store sold it to them early, that's why he's not breaking any NDA and can get the review out before anyone else.

Ah I thought he was a reviewer who did get samplesThere is no NDA if you didn't sign anything. No one sends him hardware to review, he buys all his own stuff to review and a store decided to sell it to him early, he can't be sued for that, Intel can try suing the store that sold it to him.
That's how it's always worked, a reviewer who buys hardware from retail stores and reviews it is not bound by any legal obligation like the YouTube channel who take free samples and sign contracts to get stuff for free. You can say and do whatever you want with hardware you have bought.
In my case I cannot loose coming from an i7-3770k...
first 14900k review
He doesn't like it, says it has same performance as 13900KS but it runs at higher voltage so draws more power for no extra performance.

Unless something revolutionary will come, it's unlikely I'll upgrade before 2030.Well you can as you are buying in to an EOL platform.

Still makes no sense to cut off any possible option of a drop in upgrade along the way if you change your mind, but whatever floats your boat, your money and all that jazz.Unless something revolutionary will come, it's unlikely I'll upgrade before 2030.
I'm closer to the average user than the typical forum member I guess, since 1988 I never bothered doing more than changing hard disk/SSD or GPU.Still makes no sense to cut off any possible option of a drop in upgrade along the way if you change your mind, but whatever floats your boat, your money and all that jazz.
You got the summary backwards. His 14900k runs more efficient than his 13900ks thus he can get an extra 100mhz at the same load voltage.
If you’re on adl or 13600k and below, the 14700k is a good drop in upgrade that will last a long time.
