;)

Just scanned the Monitors sub forum and it seems there aren't a great deal of options in the 1440p/non-TN realm that isn't too expensive. Will definitely keep an eye on this though.

There are a few around the £550 mark for G-Sync and £380-450 for Freesync. Somewhat old tech, though. They do still look decent from reviews, but yeah it's a bit galling to be paying so much for three- or four-year old tech. And the next level up (with features like 4k, HDR, UW, etc.) comes with an eye-watering increase in cost.

Black Friday will only Interest with a RTX 2080 @ £579.
Doubt that would happen, considering the average minimum pricing for it at OcUK at the moment starts from £750 all the way up to £900.

It would only happen if for whatever reason Nvidia slash price across the board for the 2080, but there is no such reason for them to do so.

With the 1080ti stock running dry (and no equivalent competition from AMD side), people would just have to suck it up to 2080's high price, and Nvidia know very well about that.

Currently building a PC for my daughter so will be interested to see what all this fuss will be about come Thursday, need a cheap Ryzen 5 followed by a cheapo GPU!

i am normally super excited for black friday, before getting a 1080ti last month my previous 2 major pc upgrades had been BF deals.

however i went against my better judgement and took gibbo at his word that 1080ti stock would not last as long as black friday and the £580 was going to be as good as it gets. I must admit i will be dissapointed if there are any fire sale deals on those, however there is always a chance of a good deal on the 2080 or 2080ti i suppose.

I dont think AMD have anything that high end, esp for those of us without a freesync screen tho i must admit i am interested with what gibbo posted.

Don’t think we will see 1080ti below £579

Indeed...

How you enjoying your 1080 ti?

I'm absolutely loving mine. Installed the FTW3 Hybrid this week, easily overclocked to 2038MHz stable and +400 on mem with temps around sub 50 degrees, sometimes creeping over - feel a lot more excitement for it that the RTX 2080 Ti I had. As I contribute on a benchmark YouTube channel I have a lot of benchmark vids of my Gigabyte Gaming OC 2080 Ti (overclocked) and this 1080 Ti is in a lot of cases within 10-15% of the frame rate my overclocked 2080 Ti got. Only on the odd few game it gets as high as 20-25% ahead. My 1080 Ti is also consistently 10% ahead of the RTX 2080 MSI Gaming X Trio, although when I compare with that, I am comparing with a separate systems (my CPU and RAM is better than the owner of the RTX 2080). Going to try to eek a bit more out of mine with some extra silence with some new static pressure fans on the rad.

Love it...it’s a really nice card for 3440x1440p 100hz Gsync ultrawide for the price. :)

I just want a decent 34" Ultrawide with G-Sync for £700-£750. The X34P is £809.99 at the moment in various places and while I'd prefer the Alienware £200 is a lot of difference. The HP Omen X is also looking good and I may have a wee discount from work on that one. I have money sitting waiting!
