Of course. The EU hates us. They see us as a big island where they can just dump all their crap and take plenty of dough off us for the privilege.

It's screwing with peoples livelihoods now. Some might be out of business soon because they can't get their goods in to meet the demand.

I don't intend to go anywhere, but am looking out for my daughter and we will be moved anywhere for the best start for her life.

I could exploit and take every penny anyone has if I wanted to, but not my thing, I don't claim benefits and I work for myself.

It has to stop somewhere come on, you cannot let thousands of people in the country who could be a multitude of criminals and psychopaths.

Theyre not citizens so they can't get a job. That answers every single point you mention.

If they get here and get asylum then they can legally work, but they have to get into the country by illegal means in order to get asylum.

What would be a good idea is to swap 2,000 hard working illegal immigrants who genuinely would kill to live and work in UK with 2,000 British scrounging dole dossers who have not worked for generations and have no intention of working in their lives.

I moved to London back in 1998 and I assure you it's changed immeasurable since then, when it still felt like a British city. You've got to remember, these illegal immigrants in Calais aren't a new phenomenon - remember Sangatte?

Yeah but my question is how many of them are living here illegally? I don't believe there isn't a significant number of illegal immigrants living in London - especially out east in places like Greenhithe.

possibly wife is a genuine refugee hes a criminal/former republican guard etc and was rejected.

No, absolutely not.

But I think we should all attempt to educate ourselves and stop falling for the hype and the general view on this. It's absolutely ridiculous. If you listen to common view you'd think thousands of people a night were being welcomed through an open door into the UK.

I read somewhere else that the '2000 a night' figure is a misrepresentation too - there are 2000 *attempts* per night not 2000 migrants, many make multiple attempts and the true number is in the low hundreds.

Once we begin to understand what the actual situation is, we can be much more rational about how best to deal with it. This means realising that 'We should gun them down with the army because they are coming here where we will welcome then with open arms and give them a free house' is basically utter crap.

I think this needs to be dealt with quickly because the worse it gets the closer you get to what the 'gun them all down' crowd wants. In my opinion you need to have a proper force on the ports/eurotunnel, if that means getting extra police or even army to boost numbers then do it.

Detention centres need to be like prisons. Put them right off coming here, send them back to where they came from so that they can tell stories of how bored they were playing pool and watching easteners all day.

Something needs to be done before a trucker gets stabbed or similar because then it really will hit the fan.
