Had Glock pitted like the rest, he would not have been anywhere near his position of 5th (gained due to the others pitting) and Hamilton would have won his title regardless.
Yep, Yoyota took a gamble and hoped the rain would stop or not be as bad but as it turned out it was so bad he could not get any traction with his grooved tyres he had used for 30+ laps.

There is no conspiracy, Hamilton was just very lucky he caught Glock before the finish line.

I thought that Heikki had officially already signed for another year at McLaren

Perhaps it finally dawned on McLaren just how bad Heikki was. And given their ability to produce good cars, they finally realised that the other seat should be given to a driver of a higher calibre. :p

From what I understand Heikki has indeed been confirmed for next year. The fact that his name isnt in bold is probably just an error.

Someone, somewhere always thinks it's a conspiracy. The latest theory doing the rounds (in the pool of drivers at work) is that Glock slowed down to let Hamilton pass him and win the title.

They forget that Toyota had not elected to pit Glock and put him on wet tyres which is why he was driving a bit like Bambi on ice!

Interesting stuff from Glock on the Beeb. As Vettel had passed Lewis his team weren't even giving him times back to the McLaren so he was't aware that Lewis was catching him. Also stated that so many cars went by in the last couple of corners (including some lapped vehicles) that he wasn't aware until after the race that Lewis had gone by.

A lot of people have faith in Honda, mainly due to Brawn. I have to say that in the history of F1, it is EXTREMELY rare for a car that is back of the grid 1 year, to be competing for podiums the following year. Those sort of jumps in performance rarely happen. I believe that Honda, who have been at the back of the grid for the last 2 years will continue to be there (or at best, in mid-field), in 2009.

Predicting Honda's success is very easy.

When they unveil the new car: if it is championship white it'll be good, if they persist with the earth dreams nonsense and paint it green it'll be crap (but average 37mpg).

I didn't watch the race.

First season finale I've missed in a while. I was sat in a bar, in France, having a nice drink and not giving a toss what was going on in Sao Paulo. This season finally ground me down to the point of not even caring. Before, I'd bitched and moaned and irritated the hell out of most of you by wishing for a return to something like the good ol' days. Now....not even sure I particularly give a **** what they do with it.

Congrats to Hamilton, hope it's the first of many titles. Congrats to Ferrari on winning the constructors championship while that still actually means something. And congrats to the FIA. Truly. You engineered a close finish to the title race without managing to inject a single bit of excitement. I mean, that takes talent.

Err...

Jenson Button will win a race in F1 next season...I have faith.

Yep. And I have faith that my cat will lay a golden egg. In 2009. ;)
