2008 British Grand Prix - Race 9/17

Yeah the Ferraris are notoriously sensitive to steering and are setup to be quite lively - Massa still cant get a handle over the car, no TC and wet weather...

Its definitely more him than the car

Always seemed to happen either when applying throttle out of a corner or braking into a corner - hes definitely heavy footed...

ps3ud0

He wasn't going in a straight line though, he was coming out of the bend and going over white lines (variable grip in the wet).

No he was, there was one of the spins where he was going down a straight and suddenly found himself spinning. I think he went over some standing water.

Standing water on a straight + no TC + poorly configured car = Massa spinning off :P

that doesnt just happen like that, he would have made a movement to cause the spin. however small

Or not learned where the bumps and white lines were and adjusted accordingly.

Im done in this thread now, it's been a pleasure ladies :D

You also praised the FIA and the rule changes for bringing closer racing. That will be Max then. :p

Well, the facts are evident.

In 2007, 3 drivers went into the last race with a chance to win the WDC.
In 2008, at the half way point, 4 drivers are all within 2 points of eachother at the top of the WDC standings.

Those are the facts. Not opinions - facts.

In years gone by, you have people like Mansell and Schumacher winning the title by huge points margins, with 4-5 races to spare. Those days of such crushing dominance are, for the time being, gone. This was the aim of the FIA.

He did it several times and it was due to the exit..

Yes but one particular instance he was going down a straight.

If the car was spinning on STRAIGHTS, gawd knows what it wouldve been like in corners for Massa.

That Ferrari was undriveable today. Being lapped by a Toyota shouldve proved it!

Massa was off line though. If he was on line he would have gone through the tyre tracks the other cars had made and avoided the aqua planing.

He was still coming out of the exit of the last turn, as he was driving over the back of the grid with the white lines just after Woodcote.

Even the commentators made the comment that he was driving it too hard for the conditions when he had that spin.
