2008 British Grand Prix - Race 9/17

The paddock itself had a slightly surreal feeling all weekend, though - which was almost certainly caused by the bombshell announcement that the British GP would be moving to Donington Park.

But any anger that Silverstone's owners may have had at the decision to move the race, and announce it over the weekend, was put in the shade by Kimi Raikkonen losing it on the grid with a photographer.

The moments before the race can be tense for drivers and teams, as they fight off the attention of guests, media, photographers and hangers-on who find their way onto the grid. And Raikkonen was certainly unimpressed when a snapper knocked over some of his stuff – so he let his feelings known by pushing the fellow over.

It's just funny that before the race a lot of people were thinking that it was Ferrari who had the wet race setup considering their qually performance.
I think that was more their car not being able to handle the gusty cross winds than anything else. though surprised they did even hedge their bets considering the weather forecasts...

P.S. Good on Kimi - no personality they say :/

ps3ud0

LOL didnt see it like that - just more the fact that everyone thinks hes some kind of Finnish robot with a personality transplant - he just doesnt play to the media like everyone else does, which in something like F1 is a breath of fresh air and how it used to be...

ps3ud0

have they gone up a lot recently, i went in 2004 (year schumi spun it in qualifying) and i am sure general admission tickets were about £50. I was in Woodcote A i think, not a brilliant place but tickets were the right price (payed £90ea i think)

Why not a brilliant place? They are the most expensive tickets on sale.

God what a day!

Gallery above of my day at Silverstone on sunday.

Saw some nice cars, nice ladies! and the noise was AMAZING.

Going up/down the pit lane was the best, I just was amazed how it is all setup. Some of the garage staff at various teams allowed me & my brother to go upto the cars and have our pictures taken.

Was an awesome (if wet) day!.

I was in the BRDC Farm House on the grass knoll & also taken to the BRDC club house/paddock? Watched 911s race on the rooftop then went in for a drink and finally received a pass for the pitt lane.

I had another fantastic day yesterday. This year I was on the Pit Straight and watched the pit crew hard at work. The tension when Lewis and Kimi came in at the same time was unbearable, with everyone shouting at the Pit crew to hurry up. :D
Fantastic scenes and noise with about 3 laps to go and seeing Lewis go mental on his car and up on the podium made the wet day all worth while.
Best book up next years.....

So, to everyone who was there, how long did it take you to get out of the car park? 2 1/2 hours here :(
Only took 10 mins to get to the A413 from the East hospitality carpark but about two hours in total to get home to Brum. Still not bad, takes an hour without any traffic at all.

Wonder why they haven't included prices for either Farm or Abbey? Those are reasonably priced grandstand seats. Anything more than £200 and I'll consider going to Spa instead!

Well just ordered my Woodcote B tickets. First ever GP for me and it has hurt the wallet (£420+ for two!!) But hopefully will be well worth it!
