2008 British Grand Prix - Race 9/17

I'm going to wait and get tickets for the first GP back at Donington :)

I think the demand will be just as great and as ticket sales are one of the few sources of income for an F1 track I doubt the prices will be much cheaper. How else are they going to pay off the £100m loan/investors?

rather go Goodwood at that cost...
I did and haven't been back to the GP. First year at the FoS I got the three days tickets and the hotel for less than the grandstand seats at the GP.

How else are they going to pay off the £100m loan/investors?
Debentures are being talked about - pay a grand now and have the right to buy a ticket (at pretty much face value) for the next x years.

It is 30 mins extra drive north than Silverstone from here (2hr 30m total). I haven't been to a full race weekend before - 1 qually and 3 tests to date though at Silverstone. I think now is the time to push the boat out and get decent seats for the weekend - may as well be at the new venue, even if it isn't probably going to be fully up to spec in the first year.

Well as i've never been to an F1 race and it is potentially the last one at Silverstone for a while, I was willing to treat myself. Thankfully i'm only paying for one ticket at £209!

Rumour going around that Bernie knows it wont be ready in the first year which gives him a reason to give the "British GP" to another country

Been to the British GP twice and haven't paid either time. No way would I spend my own money on it - the prices for anything other than general admission are a disgrace.

Just going thru my photos from the weekend, 1360 in total, 4000 less than i took last year.

All taken from Luffield A, my favourite grandstand.

Aye a proper half hearted attempt at a movie tie in. They could have had loads of fun with it, little Batman ears on the helmets would have been a good touch. :)

Sat - burned like mad, what happened to the rain?
Sun - Oh, it didnt rain on Sat so have double on Sun!!
Yes, got very very wet, was up between club and abbey, found a fantastic spot so that could see from turn 8, round club and down abbey, then had perfect viewing of the big screen nearby as well :D

Amazing weekend, had so much fun. all those doubters saying Silverstone isnt worth going to, you were wrong :]

looking at tickets for next year (both monaco and silverstone), deffo want seats and preferrably covered hehe

The FIA in shock "Letting Ferrari get away with stuff" happenings!
Whatever next!

Don't open the FIA Ferrari can of worms again!! :D

Perhaps Davidson was just referring to not pulling over as soon as he could, rather than waiting for all three blue flags to be waved as he is allowed to do. In all fairness though, if you can hardly see the road, a guy waving a foot long flag at the side of the track 20 yards away is going to be pretty hard to see. I remember them saying about having yellow/red flag lights on their steering wheels or something.. do they have one for a blue flag too?
Sadly I don't think we will see Davidson back as a full time driver in F1, he had his moments, but he just didn't do too well in his team mate war with Sato. I reckon actually Sato might just be worth having back, he had some great drives, although he tended to be shocking to lap too!

Also just a heads up for new Road Wars on Sky One at 10pm!

Anthony davidson was brilliant as a commentator. Having a right rant at Massa which i whole heartedly agree. :D

Plus lets see some punishment. :p
