2008 Canadian Grand Prix - Race 7/18

Had to laugh at the pitpass write up of second practice -

Massa is also on track, also on the softs. However, the Brazilian clearly has a problem, he slows down and pulls off to the side of the track on the approach to the hairpin.
As the marshals appear to struggle as they remove his car - indeed, they're making a right 'pig's ear' of it - Massa is clearly unhappy. Back and forth they push the car, but still they seem unable to get it through the gap in the barrier to safety. Back in the Ferrari garage, the Ferrari crew laughs, clearly enjoying Massa's frustration. The replay shows that at one point they actually push the car backwards into the barriers. All we need now is a bit of white powder scattered around Kimi's F2008.
Of course, all this is bad news for Massa's rivals, for all the time the marshals are messing about - sorry, removing the car - the yellow flags are being waved in that particular area, meaning that nobody can improve their time.

:D

I saw that.. as the marshals were mucking about they actually pushed the car straight into the wall. Pretty expensive mistake to make I would have thought! Then Massa got a bit annoyed and started to watch more closely and help out :D

I didn't get to see the sessions live at work, only watched the timings page, but I have a good image in my head of what happened now :D Can't wait for ITV to get the second session highlights up.

Was Hamilton on the softer tyres when he did his lap? Im sure i saw some slightly dirty white stripes on them, never saw ferrari use them. I think that McLaren should be worrying more about keeping Lewis ahead of Kubica more than they should about beating the ferrari's to pole. I like the "Worried about Ferrari top speed" - Hamilton, article on PlanetF1. I wonder if he'll be able to slingshot/slipstreem passed a Ferrari this time around? I'm thinking probably not.

2004:

Button finishes third in the championship, Sato finishes 8th. BAR-Honda finish 2nd in the constructors, comfortably ahead of Renault.

2005:

Button 9th, Sato 23rd, BAR-Honda 6th.

2006:

Button 6th, Barichello 7th, Honda 4th.

2007:

Horror show.

So yeah, they've under-achieved. They've gone from being the best of the rest behind a dominant Ferrari, to being mid-pack. Then to worst of the top four. Then tail-end charlies.

My minds drawn a blank - which San Marino GP was it they got done for the fuel again?

edit: typical found it now - 2005

You think that could still flex? With the brace being attached to the top it could still move a small amount, correct?

Wow when you see those close up pictures on timesonline, it really does make you you think how elegantly crafted the cars are.

Sector 2 so probably at T8/9.

EDIT: Autosport: "Vettel was coming through the turns eight and nine chicane on a hot lap. The Toro Rosso went through eight without problem, and Vettel turned into the left-hander at nine.

The rear end of the STR3 twitched and Sebastian caught it, but he ran out of road instantly and hit the concrete wal at a shallow angle."

Green Session Status now.
