Of course, but I know how important voting labour was to them and I didn't have any other reason to vote otherwise. It was that or spoil my vote, at the last minute decided to vote for them.

It's very illogical, but I seriously couldn't care if people don't understand (ie the 'Dear god' comment above) I just know if I asked them who I should vote for, even with Brown doing such a bad job, I'd get the same answer from all 3 of them and it would be Labour.

Salt of the earth, working class people, fought for their Country and worked down the mines, it really is in-bedded in to me how evil Conservatives are, and no matter what the spin is, I simply cannot shake their hatred for them.

You live on in memory, and my memory of them is how serious all this was to them even if it means sweet FA to me, I feel like I did the right thing honouring what they stood for.

Hey mate, it is your democratic vote to right for who you choose but we differ in that I vote for who I choose and not due to family history and that isn't a dig at you. :)

Wow, are uni's in the UK really that expensive, all uni's here are 1650€ py, it's regulated by the government so everybody can afford to go to uni ?

Labour policy on University:

Labour: We want everyone to go to uni!
Unis: Er, can we have some money to cope with the extra headcount?
Labour: Students will have to pay for it by themselves! We don't want to spend any money on our election pledges!

Well, with all the divided voters here, I REALLY hope nobody gets a majority, one party being in rule doesn't represent enough of the people, they need to find middle ways, negotiate terms...

Having an argument with some guy about minimum wage, he reckons its fair where I say its judged by age not by skill. He is also banging on about tax credits like they are some saviour. What is the conservatives solution to tax credits? I understand they will have to get the money from somewhere to reduce the debt, but how harsh will they be on families?

The potential problem is compromise doesn't always mean change. Bills become watered down to suit everyone's political machinations.

This is a good thing imo. More people are pleased. I mean, is it really that divided over there or can you accept some of libdems or tories or labour policies, I'm sure not all are bad in your eyes ?

Ever since I was born there have been nothing but coalition governments here.

Conservative, every time they have been in power I've been better off and I agree with their policies, simples :)

I just wish Thatcher was still in the running :)

Cool, I gathered that anyway, I just wanted to air why in a bit more detail.

For me my vote is like which football team I support, its based on who my granddad and my dad supported and hopefully my kid does the same (though his mother is a disgusting Liverpool fan)

Everyone has the right to vote or not and for whatever reasons, like I said in an earlier thread being told you have to vote sort of takes away the point of voting, you do with it what you want, its your right.

Anyway, overall i'm glad i've voted via family tradition, it's given me a day of thinking about my granddad and loads of little things you forget over time, for that alone it was worth it. :)
