---2012 Nexus Phone facts/rumours/info thread---

I just don't see the logic in them releasing without a 16GB option, because of that I think there'll be 8Gb and 16GB options, otherwise I can't see where sales are going to come from.

Still hoping for the price to be low enough on this that I can get out of the larger contracts and start buying the handset, using a sim-only contract.

It might be ok as a 4G phone for people with good coverage...

If they release just an 8GB then it's fairly clear that they won't want people to buy the phone!

£389.95 isn't a bad price tbh, was expecting at least £450, although 8GB is pure crap :p

Why do people keep saying not the best hardware!?!?!

Indeed this phone is of the highest quality, it's just the 8GB size acting like a humongous negative weight dragging it down. If it launches with a 16GB option like I still suspect it will then I think it will do well. The 16GB version might only be available through the Google Play store or something.

I want one but I'm patient enough to wait for the inevitable 32GB option in a few months time.

It just does not make sense for them to only release a 8GB option, why would they downgrade from 16GB on the galaxy nexus and even the nexus S had 16GB of storage.

If they do only release 8GB, then they can expect a huge up-roar and extremely poor sales thus meaning they will have to bring a 16GB or/and 32GB version out.

OK the hardware is better than I remembered. But the design? (personal thing)

I guess I like a phone to appeal visually (screen and design)

I know why Google want 8gb In there but it just isn't practical for themmajority of people. if You wanted it to sell 16gb is the min. That is one number that Joe average will pickup on .
'how many gigabytes does it have? 8?... so this one with 16 is twice as good?

Personally I still love the Nexus phone design, it's a better looking phone then any of the Samsung or Motorola offerings, perhaps only rivalled looks wise by some of the HTC or Sony devices. Obviously this is just opinion, each to their own etc. :)

Launching with only 8GB would be a total fail. I thought it was obvious that 16GB was becoming standard in phones these days, so to take a step backwards like this is frustrating. I really hope there's a 16GB model as well.

I was planning on the Nexus 4 as my next phone but 8gb is just too small!

I use about 20gb on average at the moment, I think Google is trying to get everyone on the cloud but not everywhere has an internet connection...

it would be awesome bar the space.. i wouldn't mind getting on the "cloud" but the fact that 3g is not even available everywhere in london.. this is not an option sadly

Quite cynical of me but it appears that there has been the perfect amount of news coverage over a couple of weeks, with slightly varying pieces of information / events each time a Nexus device appears, managing to begin before, and overlap Apple's and Microsoft's events, while building pace perfectly to October 29th.

If the Nexus 4 appears with only 8GB I'll presume that it's all just down to a leaky ship and a coincidence, but if it appears with 16GB I'll say it was adept marketing and Google will have successfully tricked everyone into feeling happy with 16GB :p

Even 16GB is a pityful amount of storage. Just doesn't make sense on a superphone which ever way you cut it.

There should be 2 versions....32GB & 64GB.

While I agree I still think the 16GB version will sell very well. Ill personally not be purchasing till a 32GB model becomes available, which is likely given the course the Nexus 7 has taken.
