2012 Weight Loss Thread

Started my weight loss programme in march at 16st 1lb and am now 14st 8lbs a total of 21 lbs lost with all my original muscle mass intact! Never starved my self and never really felt like I was on a diet!

Thanks mate, not sure entirely. I still have some fat around my belly and under my arms but apart from that I'm pretty happy.

I'm taking less notice what the scales read now, more how I look and feel.

But I would say another stone then work on shaping that, any less than 15 stone would look odd for me.

I'm in a similar boat at the moment, I'm at about 15st 3 at the moment but not sure how much further I want to go. I can't decide what's just loose skin and what is fat which I need to lose.

15st 3 @ 6ft 4 isn't too bad, but still puts me in the overweight category of BMI.

Week 28 Weigh in:

Starting weight beginning of January 14st 6lb
Target weight Mid September 10st 7lb

Last updated week 23 11st 4lb
This Monday 11st 6lb

2lb Gain

I stopped updating this thread 5 weeks ago through a mixture of absent mindedness and being busy! However I did manage to get down to 11st 2lb then went on holiday to Lanzarote where I gauged on some nice food and Beer and put 4lb on :(

I didn't quite get to my target of 11st by end of June but only 2lb off. Now my new target is 10st 7lb in 9 weeks for my holiday in Turkey :)

I'll resume updating this thread as it did help me keep on top of things, My plan of action is the same as before and will continue to use Myfitnesspal, Running (just got my first pair of properly fitted running shoes) and cycle to work weather permitting.

Also want to introduce some basic exercise I can do at home to try and tone up a bit, so any recommendations especially for stomach, chest and arms would be great :)

Week 29 Weigh in:

Target weight Mid September 10st 7lb

This Monday 11st 4lb

2lb Loss

Should be easier now the warm weathers here and my bike's fixed :)

Right, the time has started for me to start to lose some weight!

I've started my diet last week, and I am going to go to the Gym at least 3 times a week for PT sessions, plus will try and swim other days.

Last Monday, I was around 121kg (19st 1lb).
Yesterday, I weighed in at around 118.5 (18st 9lb), so that's a pretty respectable 2.5kg (5.5lbs) loss!

My first target is to lose 10kg by 9th September (a friends wedding), so I'm well on course for that!

Weigh in. After putting on 2lbs on weekend, I've managed to work it off, going hard at it.

Start: 16st0
Last: 15st2
Now: 15st0.6

Getting under that 15st mark is going to mean the world to me and my motivation. Then it's just another 1.5st to go... hmmph!

I'm down to 111Kg now from 140kg (16kg to go).

Running Total;

Target 95kg / 209.43/ 14.95 Stone
Start 140kg / 308/ 22.05Stone
Current 111kg / 244lbs / 17.48 Stone

Loss 29kg / 63.93lbs / 4.56 Stone
Remaining 16Kg / 35lbs / 2.5 Stone

Completed a 6mile / 10K run last week, bent my mind. Running 25-30k weekly as well and absolutely love it.

29th week weigh in:

Last Sunday - 15st 13lb
This Sunday - 15st 12lb

1lb loss

Had a BBQ on Sunday so I'm surprised with the loss, back on it though this week.

(Total loss since September '11 - 10st 1lb )

Rusty_Noob / Maxeh, do you chaps consider yourselves to still be actually "on a diet" now ?. This is the second time in my life that I will have lost a lot of weight (by the time i'm finished), this time though even though its only been going since April I don't actually think of myself as dieting.

What I am doing now is what I want to continue to do permanently, what I am asking is, is there going to come a time when you think "right, I'm finished" and then change your current regime to something different.

In a way mine will always be a diet as im diabetic but since I've started it's never felt like an actual diet.

I consider it just eating healthy and being conscious of what goes in my meals.

For me what I'm doing is making me lose weight but that's down to burning more calories rather than eating very little. Slowly I will adjust my exercise to keep me at a desired weight area.

Not rude at all don't worry!

It was a result of my weight yeah, I don't take anything for it now as Ive controlled it by diet and exercise but it's always something that can sort of creep back if neglected.
