As much as we try to believe otherwise these tours of Asia are to increase our global fan base and labouring to a 3-2 defeat is unlikely to help win over fans and attract sponsorships. These fans want to see the united side that they see on TV who play good attacking football and win games at a canter. If it was just for fitness and match sharpness then they might aswell play the games at home against teams in League 1.
Its much the same as Barcelona coming over here and playing boring football and losing against Rochdale, it probably wouldn't cause much excitment for the locals. Win 6-0 on the other hand playing Messi and Neymar and they'd probably see an increase in fanbase and merchandise sales.
