Facts matter.

If you're going to make a claim that's untrue, don't get your knickers in a twist when someone calls you on it.

I suspect that you're taking this distractionary stance now because you feel a little embarrassed.

But hey, thanks for reminding me why I so rarely post in GD.

Enjoy your tea.

Facts don't matter to a lot of people.

Feelings matter.

****ing simps.

I refused to vote for Boris last time #proudmoment, so I’m not rabidly partisan
Ironically, my OH, a lifelong Labour supporter, voted for him

Fair enough :) You should be proud for that :)

It is so strange how such blatantly obvious "bad choices" (Trump / Boris) could garner so much support from populist guff and spewing nonsense. It's almost as if somehow their "buffoonery" disarms people's common sense / logic

LOL wat???? Mr Stop the war member would have had policies to prevent it? What policies would have prevented it?

The only thing he'd have tried to prevent would have been the Ukrainian's successful defence of Kyiv, in part thanks to UK supplied NLAWs.

If you think another western politician making phonecalls or having meetings calling for peace would have made any difference with Putin then I have a bridge to sell you, Macron already tried all that nonsense.

Considering the stare of the situation, Corbyn would clearly have done a better job in every single area. As people made up utter rubbish about him, I think it’s only fair I wildly speculate in the other direction considering everyone who said Corbyn would cause what has happened was on so wrong, and Boris did so.

Ah, that explains this claim:

He wasn’t elected, had he been, Russia would not have invaded Ukraine.

Literally everything Corbyn said would happen, is. He had the policies to prevent it.

"Utter rubbish" is pretty much correct re: the notion that Corbyn would have magically prevented Putin from carrying out a full-scale invasion of Ukraine rather than simply being an obvious hindrance to any UK efforts to support Ukraine.

I really hope when tories are kicked out in 2 years all these tax cuts are reversed

I hope not, envy politics doesn't strike me as being particularly useful, for the vast majority of the time Labour was in power the top rate of tax was 40% too, this 45% was just a climb down from the silly 50% rate thrown in at the end of Gordon Brown's time in office, now the government has simply reverted to the 40% rate we had prior to that.

You government simps should start some kind of psychic show. So sure x, y and z will happen in hypothetical situations. Its ******* amazing.

You don't need to be psychic to see that simply calling for peace wouldn't have stopped Putin, we know this as another idealistic leader, Macron, tried to do that multiple times and it didn't work.

I thought Corbyn was some Commie lovie so him and Putin would have got on great...

I'm assuming troll because you can't possibly believe that everyone who is poor in this country is that way because that had a drug problem, didn't work hard enough or enjoy the benefits lifestyle...

Typical and pathetic, just because I've told you something you didn't want to hear you call me a troll, that was my experience whether you like it or not. It's reactions like that, that make me not take bleeding heart liberals seriously, you're fake and unable to accept the truth when it slaps you in the face.

I decided to take a different path, there were a handful of others like me at the same school that rejected 'working class' culture, put up with the bullying and went on to further education and better jobs. I bet good, hard earn cash, that people like them who bullied us for being bookworms, swots, "know-it-alls" who were spat at, beaten, and called names. Are the same ***** who are moaning here, on Twitter, and on other forums about the "rich" and jealous of anyone who earns middle-income or more.

Ah so your 40K saving is about corp tax and not just PAYE, I was going to say....

Yeah, its all-in, corp. tax/NI and including dividend tax savings as well.

Those that are saving large amounts as PAYE are going to be lawyers and managing director level people upwards.
