No, we just hoped the Tory party would elect a suitable leader. They have humiliated themselves and the country, and instead of sorting things out, they've doubled down on their nonsense.

I would traditionally vote for them, but they have been catastrophically bad in so many ways, it's beyond a joke now.

We are being taken for complete fools. Nobody with a shred of self respect could endorse any more of this.

It goes to show you how they didnt.... How rotten and infected the party is. Its stands for no one apart from the posh and the privileged. The entire Tory membership is at fault they take the back handers and allow people like Truss/Boris to stand.

They need locking up in the tower and left to rot.

Crazy booting out Boris, they will regret that for the next 20 years sitting in opposition
Booting out Boris was the right thing to do, he was a pathological liar with multiple scandals to his name...

Crazy was voting to replace him with a bunch of inept morons like Poundland Thatcher Truss and Kami-Kwasi.

Had a look to see when pmq’s is as it’s going to be awfully tasty, only to find they’re in recess for two weeks for party conferences. It’s not a bad gig being an mp is it.

Yes looks like Boris was the brightest and best they had...

Well it looks like the british economy is collapsing faster than I first thought

Corrupt or incompetent, doesn't matter at this point

I bet Boris woke up this morning and thanked Truss for making him only the second worst Tory PM.

Which plan, is there even a plan?

Yeah, to make the rich even richer. That was the plan right?

Rishi Sunak "The real prize is winning the next general election"

Thanks Rishi, all in this together then!

Liz Truss "I'll hit the ground running"

Thanks Liz, although I didn't think you meant you'll hit the economy into the ground

not really , because as those prices go down those rich toffs that just got a massive tax break will hoover them all up as cash buyers. The average worker will still not be in a position to afford them because the mortgage companies will simply not extend them credit as their salaries will not be high enough to satisfy the banks that they can actually afford it, and they will end up paying over inflated rents as they get gouged to hell and back
Precisely this, and indeed, this might be part of the plan (evil diabolical plan)

Do you think everything is working to plan?

Whats the plan? Crush asset prices, have some normality in the cost of money, wash out crowded GBP traders, spur real economy money rather than QE and ultra low interest rates (lol)?

Monetary policy is so last year

No doubt you were in favour of the energy subsidies, which will cost far more and only last for 6 months

4/5% Gilts are looking very nice though

Legally I don't think they are corrupt, morally, definitely and pretty sure their policies would have a positive impact in their own pocket.

I do wonder when they make budget like this, do they ask any economic professors or think tank whether it is indeed a good idea or a sound plan?

It seems strange it goes opposite to what the BoE is trying to do.
They specifically refused to allow a published report on the harm it will do, and called it a statement rather than a budget to get around this
