yep i heard about the frame skipping on the xr34 above 60hz, but it would make sense for anyone buying it to change to amd to make full use of freesync

That's what I'll be doing. I need to upgrade from my 970 for 1440p so i may as well go team red to enjoy the freesync

i did the same, i sold my 980 sli and bought the xr34 and a fury tri x, after the sale of the 980's and buying a fury i had £200 towards the monitor

Im sitting in the same position myself, ive sold my 980ti and are just waiting for polaris. I dont expect Polaris to offer 1080/1070 level performance but i think AMD will launch a card with good enough performance so that i also have some cash i can throw towards an ultrawide Freesync monitor. Im not saving up for the asus gsync UW with its stupid pricetag nor am i touching Acer's offerings as ive been burned before by them. LG all the way for me.

the good thing about the xr34 is at 75hz freesync you dont need to hit the silly fps, my fury is doing pretty good and i think if i xfired it would be a bit of a waste, still im keen on polaris if it comes with more than 4gb of ram

I don't think I'm prepared to pay for one of the 100hz G-SYNC monitors, so what I might do is just get a curved one (such as the the LG 34UC98) which apparently does do 75hz on Nvidia cards. Then, at least further down the line, if I so wish I can sell the 980Ti and get something that can utilize freesync. That sounds to me like the best thing I can do at the moment.

i noticed x34 is discontinued on some external sites. Is this because of known issues with lottery of screens? Is there going to be a replacement as in the market for this when 1080 graphic card comes out?

crikey. whats the difference ? Just not dodgy? lol? any other alternatives u can suggest as want a decnet ultra wide for bf1 with my soon to be 1080 card but dont fancy spending 1k on it...

I just grabbed a B-Grade Predator X34 34" G-SYNC from OcUK for £500, I'm not going to get too excited though because I'm obviously wondering why it was there in the first place, will be here Thursday so will be interesting to see what it's like.

I noticed that OcUK say they only have 90 days warranty, does that mean you won't be able to use up any remaining warranty from the serial number with Acer?

Great, thanks for that!!! Just what I was looking for, since switched back to my X34 from 4k and glad I did! 50% more frames pretty much...

edit - Looks like the 1080 is pretty much the perfect card for this res! I'm getting one now (non-ref ;)) :D

yeh i reckon something like the gigabyte g1 or msi will do nicely

let me sum up this 25 pages.

If you are looking for the best 21:9 monitor, or the best monitor right now in the market its Acer Predator X34.
