***21.9 Ultrawide Thread***

Overwatch 21:9 support removed after beta. Huge post on the Blizzard forums if anyone is interested in getting this issue resolved.

>>>Blizzard forum thread regarding 21:9 can be found here<<<

Thats gotta be really annoying for all the people that pre-ordered it, its made me glad i didnt now. Lets hope they sort it, i've just talked my m8 into buying an x34 and hes had this on preorder for a while, hes probably gonna be annoyed at me.

I have a LG 34um68 on the way. Once it gets here ill be taking some pictures of the glow and backlight bleed(if any, crossing fingers) and we can see if it LG has really improved in this area. I have a feeling they have :) looking forward to give freesync a go.

Let us know about your freesync experience, I'm very interested myself :)

The competitive advantage comment about 21:9 is such a joke! What about gaming mice, mechanical keyboards? Maybe they should auto detect for them and ban anyone using them. What about a comfortable gaming chair? They should have the game access your webcam and if it sees anything but a kitchen stool, you're banned! Absurd.

Got my new x34 today (Oct 2015 build) and it is lovely. Overclocks to 100hz, very minor coil whine when overclocked (but it is absolutely tiny tbh), no blb at all.

So far (please don't let them be famous last words!) everything is perfect!

My peerless monitor arm can literally only just hold the weight of this one so gonna change it out for and ergotron mx which seems a bit sturdier!

I was looking for any info about 21:9 displays being showed at Computex this year but this made me lol hard: Gigabyte 3440x1440 AIO

Received my LG 29UC88 today. It's great though sometimes I feel like I'm watching tennis with all the head movement from left to right and back :D

Hehe, for games i found i just stare at the middle like normal most the time, but on desktop i feel the same as you, when theres stuff all over the screen ya can find ya self going from left to right a lot.

Hi Guys,

I apologize if this has been asked many times before, but i couldn't find any conclusive information, andthe only review online i can find is in Polish.

How is this monitor?

ProLite XUB3490WQSU-B1

It's currently selling for £479!!

Obviously i'm trying to go as cheap as possible.

Main uses are Gaming, and i cannot stretch to a Gsync monitor but want Ultrawide.

any opinions? Thanks

It's the first time I hear about this one and I don't think there are professional reviews out yet so I can't really help you but for sure the panel is the same of the AOC U3477PQU and the LG 34UM95 (plus probably others newer still by LG) so if you want the bang for buck you can compare those.

I just put my X34 (I love this thing) on an arm after months of grumbling over the lost desk space and it being too close to me. Looked at the Ergotron MX and LX but in the end got the Basics Single Monitor Display Mounting Arm from the forest retailer, it seems basically to be the same as the LX but is black not silver (which I wanted), holds the monitor just fine and can go either edge or hole mounted to the desk, it also has the bonus of being cheaper.

Small point, the bottom two holes for vesa mounting on my X34 were very shallow, presumably because the original stands shape, you will need shorter screws or spacers.

I caved in and a 34UM68 is on the way :) I would have liked a 1440p version, but know my 390x wouldn't have coped as it struggled with standard 1440p. This is primarily for gaming and I was fine with 27" 1080p - so should be ok. Productivity wise 3440*1440p all the way tho. I've spent time working on the Dell 34" and it's slick as hell.

Yeah a 390x would have been really low fps on 1440 ultrawide, my overclocked 290x crossfire couldnt really handle it without turning off the 2x/4xAA when i went from standard to ultrawide.

Need a couple of 980ti's for decent settings on ultrawide i reckon.

Well i know that my old 980ti could drive 3440x1440 at 60fps almost all the time in GTA 5 with settings at max/near max with only a few others turned down a bit more like that silly grass.

That said, i could have picked a 3440x1440 but i wanted something that was much easier to drive as my PC is only for gaming/movies at this point which is why i also settled for 2560x1080. I dont plan on spending 500-600 on graphics cards for the next long time and i dont want to end up with an experience that is subpar because i dont have the grunt to drive the panel.

Can anyone suggest a game to check out the smearing/trailing/ghosting on a Acer Z35?

I'll receive it today, but want to make sure the limitations of the VA panel are within my "tolerance boundaries".

I currently own a AOC E2752VQ, 1080p, TN 2ms.
