*** 2nd March - Apple Event - Official Thread ***

That's bizarre. Just took an image to show you what I'm getting -

EDIT - at checkout it jumps back down to £329. What the, sort it out Apple!

Not particularly interested in the iPad 2 - looks like a relatively minor hardware refresh. More interested in any glimpses of iOS 5. I don't need a detailed rundown - just some reassurance that Apple's working on the notifications problem!

Nothing unexpected. A bit disappointing that it is being released on the 25th of March.

Thought it was available from next Friday?

Problem is no legit film download service on android, with no info and no release dates.

Asus transformer is the one I'm interested in. Xoom has a poor screen according to previews.

Yeah this is true - I'm sure the Film thing will be resolved in the coming months. In actuality tho as long as you can get the films on your PC then there shouldn't be any issue getting them on your tablet. You don't need to use something like iTunes as a 'middle man' to get stuff on Android devices - drag, drop, unplug and go...

I think MobileMe updates, if they are due, will just happen without notice I think, but it does need a few more features to qualify for the price per year.

It has to be on the cards soon because of the huge data centre they are close to putting online.

Trouble is all current legit services either require Itunes or zune, which android don;t support. Or have drm which requires Windows media play 10, again android does not support this.
So in Uk there is no legal way to get films on to an android device.

I would love to go completely digital for films. But iTunes offerings are lacking and far to pricey for digital copies. I can pickup brand new old films for two or three quid from Amazon and rip them. I can understand new releases being ten quid or so, but for old films that's a joke.

They were going to make it all free or something. Probably saving it for the June event, along with iPhone 5, iOS 5 e.t.c.
Im sure they normally make MobileMe announcements with the iPhone so I wasnt surprised it wasnt announced today. Will be good as mine ends in Oct/Nov

ps3ud0

I don;t think it's to bad a lot at £5 I got law abiding citizen for this and allows me to download both SD and HD, slightly more than dvd price but cheaper than blu-ray (but not true HD) but not massively. but they are itunes only compatible which is a shame.

Again you make a good point - it's the unfortunate position of an introductory OS - I hate to sound like a broken record but I would put money on it being just around the corner...

I have no doubt it will be around the corner, my problem is I have no idea what it will look like and price wise.
I'm staying away a lot with work now and have been desperate for a tablet since end of the summer and have wanted a tablet for at least 4 years.

basically I'm getting too impatient to wait.
The other thing phone contract runs out in April and it will need to match the OS of the tablet. Hopfully have some more solid news by then.

Or do i get a ipad1 for £250? can't be more than that 2nd hand, keep current phone and reavaulate in june when IOS5 is announced and hopfully by then android has settled down.
