Hi there

Use this to time the video:-

Obviously start timing when either the needs crosses 30mph or when acceleration starts from 30mph so listen for the engine and stop when the needle is actually on 70mph and just before it.....

I'll try and see how accurate the speedo is and get back to you. Does anyone know how accurate those displays at the side of the road are? You know, the ones that you drive past and they flash up your speed?

edit... Using Gibbo's stopwatch link, I started it a split second before I nailed it and got a time of 5.281.

My power kicks in at 4k and powers through to the redline at 7.5k :cool:

Mine kicks in at 2250rpm (fear the accuracy

) and starts running out of puff just before 6k.

It has power down low, but a lot up high.

Its weird. Its a bloody NA car but you can hear when the main part of power kicks in aswell as feel it :confused:

Ok, here we go:

On stopwatch I make it between 4.9 and 5.1, so about 5 seconds.

That was starting in 2nd and changing to 3rd. My car will do 40 in 1st and 60 in 2nd, so the extra gear change to 70 will either give me a similar or longer time I reckon.

I will attempt with a more accurate GPS program if I can find one.

Car is a 2003 Civic Type-R, no mods.

haha, was waiting for someone to say that

"Mayo alert"

It's the ABS light. Got a dodgy regulator on the alternator so the voltage tends to go a bit crazy at high revs. With 18v flowing through the electrical system, the ABS system tends to throw a bit of a wobbler, lol.

In my Sprint I'm making mine to be about 4.9 seconds and the speedo's been checked against TomTom.

I'll do some more runs tomorrow though because I know I can eek a bit more out of it if I'm a little more aggressive with it.

I am aware I crept up a little at the start though, so I'm listing it as my 'temporary' time for the meantime
