30xx Series Founders Edition

The difference is that 2070 wasn’t launching yesterday. It was a random stock drop that also sold out in a matter of minutes. In reality the only people who got one either spent the whole day F5ing or are in some invite only discord channel which has a bot F5ing the website and pings an alert. You had to be at your PC when the ping went out or you missed out.

I would t call that easy.

Plenty of 3070 founders edition cards on that famous auction site, seems more cards were available for this launch.
way more.
I saw them available even 40 minutes after launch.different retailers, different brands.even nvidia themselves went out of stock and back in stock few times.
compared to 3080 and 3090,I think they made MUCH more of these.
hopefully these *hole scalpers plan for big profit fails this time.

I was so annoyed not getting the 3080 / 3090 FE I ending up buying MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ventus 3X 24GB OC GPU.

I kept telling myself to wait as long as it takes for the FE but I lack discipline

Now it's dispatched I'm kind of regretting it, I just can't decide what to do, I'm getting annoyed with the 1080ti and got a week off work to play with it...might flip a coin on whether to return it.

I just can't justify the £1550 price tag and can't get my mind off the FE

I can relate ;)
Yesterday when I saw 3090 FE in stock,I was tempted, although I never even thought about buying one and paying that much for a graphic card but frustration of not finding 3080 was definitely strong and tempting.
I’d say if you (rightfully) can’t justify paying that much for it ,then return it and wait for a 3080.eventually you can get one.the 3090 is not worth it for gaming.
Today I found an EVGA 3080 for £700 and bought it.but I might even return that and wait for a FE because I wanted an FE from start.

Ok so tested the fe card tonight compared to the palit I had before.

Performance wise there about the same, the FE did win in each test but not by much. It also ran about 6-7 degrees hotter then the palit. Looks wise it’s miles ahead and feels very well made.

Only 2 bad points are it has noticeable coil wine where the palit had none and the 12 pin adapter is ugly. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

A lot of people reporting coil whine on the founders edition models, I hope it's not a widespread isssue.

Aren't you considering the 6900XT?

Yes and no....I'm uncertain about everything. December seems a long wait and I'm really getting impatient.

I think I've been brainwashed, for some reason I don't fully trust AMD gpu and I have intel so I can't take advantage of their feature (rage mode?) waiting for Digital Foundry type report.

But I also have my last week off this year and really wanted a GPU. (after almost 6 months)

I installed my 3080 FE today, I love it. However I am getting a low, odd noise from my speakers with it. It's a buzzing / interference sound, whenever I boot a game or run a benchmark. Even when the PC speakers are muted but deffo coming through the speakers.

Anybody know if it can be causing some sort of interference etc?

Sounds like coil whine to me, dodgy transistors when under load. My card has the same issue but it goes away when i use my external AMP.
