30xx Series Founders Edition

I'm wondering if they still restrict people from buying another card, I had my 3070 a year ago. According to the retailer you couldn't purchase ANY other 30 series if you had one purchase be it fe or aib. Wonder If that's still the case now.
Unfortunately they still do. I moved house and used a different card to get a 3080 on the last drop. Bit extreme to do that just for a GPU though :D

Tried that before twice and got declined, even using alternate address, different ip etc. Odd

My mate got an RTX3060TI AIB model near launch. Then last year managed to get an RTX3060TI FE from the same retailer fine.

It's 1 FE 1 AIB per customer from that retailer

Well my 3090 is installed and working fine after a bit of ddu. I cannot hear any coil whine at all even at load and the temps are fine. Saying that I'll have to mess with some fan curves but it hasn't gone over 85 degrees yet

That is strange. Assume you used a different card that was registered at the other address? We'd just moved across all of our bank details so I was able to use a different one.

My 3080 Ti (with an undervolt) doesn't get above 70C, and is normally around the 65C mark.

I think it'd have a heart attack if it got to 85C! :p

I caught the 3090 drop yesterday - and for a moment put one in my basket, but reality hit and I realised even at this 'bargain price' it was too rich for me. Holding out for a 3080/70. It hit me with the '1 series card per user' message- or something to that effect.

The info is from the retailer itself :) can join that retailers discord channel and ask

I dont need to.

I have bought two FE's but that was before they set the 1 per person rule around early 2020 so that doesnt count. End of Oct 2021 I bought a 3xxx AIB and today I bought another 3xxx AIB same model so it was not 1 AIB per person in my case and I didnt do anything to get round it. From what I believe its only FE's that are 1 per person not AIB. Unless of course the 1 AIB rule came in after Oct 2021. ;)

Fair enough , surprised people are still paying over the top for them and this late into the generation

Yea so I adjusted the fan curve a little. It doesnt go over 58 now.

It must have been on default

Your case must have no airflow at all to get to 85 on stock. What fan speed are you at to hit 58?

Bone stock, no undervolt and no fan-curve messing mine never goes above 65. With my mild undervolted, it stays around 63. Fans barely ever going above 1050rpm.

Needed a 3060ti for my son been waiting to see if they sell them again at a "decent" price and although its £70 more than the other one I paid for its still the cheapest around by £50. When I've finished means I will get it for £300 after selling the old card so its worth it for me.

My 3080Ti would sit at 84C stock on sessions though I always open the power slider, even most reviews in open test beds had them doing 75C, so wouldn't surprise me in a closed case being higher, though when I took mine apart to put on water I have to say the FE build was not impressive and I don't think the best contact was made.

The FEs do seem to be setup not to make a lot of noise though and used the temp margin to keep clocks up and fans low they hardly ramped at all, lots of scope for improvement with an adjusted fan curve, better under water though.

I've set a custom fan curve to match temps with fan percentage speed and all is well. The case should be fine. I've got 2 x 140s in the front as intakes, 1 X 140 in the bottom as an intake, 1 X 120 as an exhaust at the back and 2 x 140s attached to the CPU rad in the top as an exhaust. Plenty of air flow. The case and filters could do with a clean mind.
