30xx Series Founders Edition

My 3080Ti would sit at 84C stock on sessions though I always open the power slider, even most reviews in open test beds had them doing 75C, so wouldn't surprise me in a closed case being higher, though when I took mine apart to put on water I have to say the FE build was not impressive and I don't think the best contact was made.

The FEs do seem to be setup not to make a lot of noise though and used the temp margin to keep clocks up and fans low they hardly ramped at all, lots of scope for improvement with an adjusted fan curve, better under water though.

84 would not make me comfortable. Someone else was having similar temps here with an NZXT and managed to get it down 10 degrees

No longer a concern for me, it has a water block so runs flatout all the time with > 2Ghz core and +1k on the memory and still 30C less than stock on air.

I've set a custom fan curve to match temps with fan percentage speed and all is well. The case should be fine. I've got 2 x 140s in the front as intakes, 1 X 140 in the bottom as an intake, 1 X 120 as an exhaust at the back and 2 x 140s attached to the CPU rad in the top as an exhaust. Plenty of air flow. The case and filters could do with a clean mind.
Curious what you changed the fan curve to?
As said... I barely ever see my fans break 1050rpm or about 40% using the stock curve. And thats pretty much 'silent'

I changed it as I mentioned. Like for like temp Vs fan percentage speed. Maybe I did something like disable auto fans when I saw that reading

CEX are only paying £517 for RTX 3070 FEs now :( . Looks like I've missed the boat for an affordable upgrade to a RTX 3080 FE.

They are selling them for £1,100 too! You'd be mad to pay that...

Suppose I should be grateful that I have a RTX 3070 FE

How safe would it be to sell my gfx card on Ebay, cash only and payment on collection?

Why not sell on Facebook marketplace or AVForums? I got £800 for my release day 3070 a couple of weeks ago.

I might just have to take the hit and sell it at CEX if I can get a RTX 3080 FE, they're still paying a bit more than I bought the RTX 3070 FE for.

How do I sell on Facebook marketplace, so that it's safe for myself and ensure that the buyer gets what they want too? Are most graphics cards sold via Paypal payments or for cash only?

CEX are trying to make a profit, they are clearly going to want a share of the sale once bought from you, so you get much less than you would selling privately.
I would advise using Ebay.

Whenever I sell on there I ask the buyer to collect, that way I can show them the item working if they like. I always ask them to pay via bank transfer and won’t let them take the item until I can see the transfer on my banking app.

I wonder if Nvidia is struggling to produce cards like the RTX 3080 at the moment? Hence the lack of reference model drops in the last 3-4 weeks.

Maybe they just have less available, due to the (quiet) launch of similar cards like the RTX 3080 12GB version? This version is very similar, but has 256 more shader units.

Cheers.

What would be the drawbacks in taking payment via Paypal?

Is £675 a fair price for a RTX 3070 FE?
With PayPal the buyer can dispute the payment for up to 6 months, and they are well known for siding with buyers. If you're accepting a payment method with risks you might as well get more money for it on eBay whenever they have a selling promotion.

Have a look at how much others have used ones up for and price it accordingly. You’ll get people offering less but just accept what you’re happy with. You’ll get a lot more than CEX are offering!

Ye would not do it unless they have decent buy pricing. They would've only given 700 odd for my non-FE 3080, got 1100 on FB marketplace.

You not worried about some dodgy person coming round your house?
