Kinda tempting but trying my luck in Intel's sweepstake first
Its 50/50, you either win or you don't?The first rule about the sweepstake...
The first rule about the sweepstake...
They've said 50,000 worldwide. Not sure how many the UK gets (we only got 6% of the sweepstake allocation). The only data I could find showed a German retailer selling ~3,000 i7-8700Ks per month at the beginning of the year (which coincidentally is 6% of 50,000).What's availability meant to be like for these? Is it a case of one batch and when they're gone they're gone or will be they be around for a while?
lol mines in the basket cant make my mind upIve ordered one along with a Strix-h and 8pack 4000mhz ram.

Im looking to pass my 6700k build to my son. So Looking to get a new cpu/mb/ram. Whats the difference with the letters on the strix boards?I thought I'd upgrade from my trusty 3930k (4.7ghz) system, it's been a very good rig.

Cheers. was looking at reviews. but the link you sent was much better
Are you referring to when AMD changed to using their own chipsets which weren't pin compatible or prior to that? The 8086 was also made by AMD under licence for IBM, Until Intel illegally reneged on that contract which forced AMD to make their own X86 designs that ended up better than Intel's .....
Way before. Are you referring to when AMD changed to using their own chipsets which weren't pin compatible or prior to that?

When AMD made far superior and far cheaper CPUs than Intel.
Like the AMD 386DX40 which was (as you quess) 21% faster than the Intel 386DX33. Or the 486DX80/120 when Intel best offering was at 66Mhz lol.
And always at much less price.
