5870 Vantage result...

Presuming the settings in that compare link are accurate, I think it's safe to say that that score may be a little loaded in this comparison. :p

Oh I know, my point though is that even at the same settings, people get similar scores with cards that are a lot faster.

I don't actually have an X2 any more, I've got 2 4850s now.
 
I think 06 is very consistent, until you factor in the CPU score, where quads can rip duos to bits and give you a whopping score even if the systems are similar. Using similar CPU's then 06 is spot on IMO.
 
My 3dmark06 with pc all stock scores around
16600
cpu clocked to 3.6 scores
19200 or so
my 4870 x2 with cpu at 3.6 scored
19700
I only have the re5 demo and just ran the benchmark
dx10 all maxed and x4 AA 1680x1050 scored
102.6 fps with pc stock clocks.

Cheers for that, I actually got a higher 06 score than you, so maybe its just vantage casing me issues, I'll try the RE5 bench in a bit.

Is that with your CPU as in sig? I have some major vantage issues if your score is legit.:eek:

I think I may reinstall my OS, its on a corsair SSD so wont take long, that vantage score has really threw me.

RE5 bench came back with an average of 77 so...not so good. Either its the OS, the card, or CPU, have to narrow it down.

default benchmark
scored 16623
Maybe what we are seeing is the difference between vista and win7.
Dont forget these are new cards and the drivers will get better over time.
 
Johny could you possibly put a screen up of your RE5 result, just for me to make reference to.

Tol247 seems to have no problems in W7...

Well TOL247, I hit around 20500 in 06, so it looks like it maybe just vantage.

I don't change any CPL settings, some people set everything to performance in ati/nvidia control panel which is cheating....
 
You have physx enabled, inflating your score, I still score more than 3k than you under the GPU score, god knows if this is right or not.

stock 06 settings, performance vantage setting, and 1680x1050 max settings with any other benchmarks
