5870 Vantage result...

Your CPU score is much lower though considering it's clocked 100MHz higher, surely 4MB less of onboard cache can't be THAT bit a difference.

3d mark 06 defalt score

M8, its much lower because I cant enable physx on my card that artificially bumps the CPU benchmarks up, try running it with physx disabled.

Cheers TOL247, could you please run the fixed RE5 bench at 1680x1050 rez and with 4XAA and all maxed this includes motion blur on, good man.

no mate its at standard settings.

That some crazy **** right there...

Just ran with 8xAA, 76 average, indeed a great card.

I think people are slowly coming to terms with where the 5870 leads in performance.

I was underwhelmed with the performance until Tom|Nbk posted his crysis at 8AA results.

I think these cards shine when the AA and AF is piled right on.

Maybe they're CPU limited or something, because the FPS seems to hardly drop at all when you pile the AA on.

Still though, I don't think they're worth the £300 asking price. :p

2 years ago i paid £500 each for 2 gtx 8800s and this single card for £300 is faster than both of them in sli so id say they are a bargain.

I think in terms of AA it's just that they've got tons of raster power to spare because AMD gave them 32 ROPs (half this amount managed to keep up with the 32 ROPs in the GTX2x0 series in terms of AA performance) in anticipation of them powering stupidly high resolutions thanks to Eyefinity. It's not that they're CPU limited, it's more they're everything that isn't raster operations limited at any resolution lower than insanexstupid.
