8800GT Ramblings Thread

Really am fed up of england being sharfted on everything. We work moer hours then any other medc country i beleive, have less holidays and still get ripped off on everythuing we buy and tax

But i gues tahts not to be discussed in thsi topic as it would likely turn into a downward spiral of depression and everyone getting annoyed.

Still think the prices are a bit high for what they are. Gues that means the GTS and GTX are going to be a lot moer expensive then what they currently are.

Before anyone jumps down my throat i say "for what they are" because they are still the lowest in the 8800 chain. This means the others are all going to get hiked up again. I think it should have been 130-170 not 146-200. The GT should fall down in price when the GTX and GTS come out. hopefuly. Otherwize we all going to end up spending 400+ quid again on a gtx.

Hmmm, the status for mine is..... shipped :)

Just went ahead and ordered my G0 Q600 too, as found it for good price new.

Sigh, would have liked to stick with OCUK, but sometimes, just can't happen - I have never been a patient person....

Someones trying to cash in a tad, but not from me they wont !!. im outraged price wise. No excuses/reasons from anyone will sway me to purchase one now.

OK. Well I paid £180 delivered. That isnt too bad then. Seeing that I have just built my new system on Sunday and need a new card ASAP.

What happens if the new AMD card hits and is able to run Crysis at 200fps with 16x AA and only costs 50 pence.

Whose going to be laughing then?

This has been the most unintentionall funniest thread around these parts for some time.

That is my view too only not as extreme. The prices are needlessly high from every shop. The excuse is well its good bussness and competetive. But its just monopoloysing and having "deals" to keep prices high so all the shops do it. If one droped it then they would sell out like hot cakes and the other shops wouldn't like that.

I was thinking of getting one of these if the price was good but I think I'll carry on with my GTS and see what November brings.

why would you even consider buying one since you have a GTS..

The card itself is a good step up for the mid range it is not far away from gtx performance for close to half the price. Thats why there was such hype.

In real world games, would you see much difference from a GTS?
