Apparently it's only one year warranty unless you register the card within a month of purchase?
  • All EVGA Products purchased ON or AFTER November 1, 2006 MUST be registered within 30 days from ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE to receive limited lifetime warranty. (All products not registered within 30 days will ONLY receive a 1 year limited warranty.)

  • EVGA Limited Lifetime Warranty

That's the funny thing Steve, it was actually getting that hot before, but with the re-install it seems to hover around the 70's. I can't work it out unless something was triggering it to max something out, who knows how these things work eh?
I don't really want to mess with it yet incase it doesn't last, but once a decent cooler comes out that fits on easily I will do it :)

So, as I posted in the wrong thread: -

Bah, I was hoping to see the OcUK 8800GT 512MB in stock today as I have it on pre-order but now it's 5:30pm with "overdue" and no ETA I suppose I'm stuffed for getting it tomorrow. :(

I'm not blaming OcUK as I have a firm understanding that **** happens and sometimes stock just doesn't come.

I'll probably get in touch with OcUK in the morning and see if they have a new ETA, I'm actually considering changing my order to a different model though. What do you lot think that I should do?
Any thoughts?

Thanks dr. sarf, the front fan is blowing at the card (the HDD etc is all moved out of the way). There isn't anywhere else I can fit a fan to blow directly on the card, pity there isn't a fan in the side of the case tbh (NZXT Hush). I'm at a loss what to do about it.

Check my picture below that I knocked up as a temporary fix. I plan to cut an additional hole out the side of that case and set a new blue LED fan in, blowing directly onto the cards. Looks a pigs ear at the moment and it'd be nice to show the cards off but heat is a priority over aesthetics.
I have 2 fans at the front too, but they are far to far away to have an effect on cooling the cards.

If you havn't a window case then just mount a fan like I have, otherwise, get your tools out and cut a nice hole in the case.
I'll show you another photo when its done, and hopefully I won't have fudged it.

Anyway, that pic:

hmm it's been more than 1 week and still no sign of stock? Any later then people might as well cancel their order and wait for the new GTS tbh.

Just noticed the EVGA superclocked "Crysis" edition for £205 - ETA 15/11/2007... just 4 days before the alleged new GTS launch.

Back to the 8800GTX then for now :( :D. No matter what you get (GT/new GTS) you're going to get a good card. Lets just hope the new GTS is available soon and the GTX's value remains high :).
LOL not made my mind up yet, once I've been on the phone to OcUK about GT stock then hopefuly my mind will be put at ease and I'll be back on track with my original plan. :)

^^ Yeah but I'd rather get the card for <£175 and get Crysis seperately for £24.99 so you get nice box and manual and more importantly it has more resale value, whereas the copy that comes with card cannot be resold I think.

Everyone has their own ideas of whats the best thing to do, if it makes sense to you then go for it.

I wasn't expecting to get a game at all with the Inno card so its kinda nice it got a Lara Croft thingie in it! :o

A game is always nice to get I think. I got Company of Heroes with my card, and although it was £7 more expensive than a comparable brand, it felt like I was getting something cheap.

Crysis for the equivalent of £20 isn't a bad deal I think, and you get the guaranteed overclock and warranty too.
