8800GT Ramblings Thread

Ahhh FFS, I have just been informed by the supplier of my GT that even though i have waited 10 days already, it could ake upto another 3 weeks!! Now im not hapy as they wont give me my money back, as apparently t has been "used it to order the GT" pahh


might just buy another gts so i can at least ue my pc, the demand is ridiculous!
 
but they are been awkward (some electonics shop - through the bay) and are refusing to refund my money.

Now im well annoyed as before i ordered, i checked to make sure his drop ship order was on time and there would be no huge delays. 10 days later, he has no cards in stock, and expcets me to wait another 21 days, as the "card is aleady paid for, it just needs to arrive"

If you paid with paypal start a chargeback for non delivery

Give him bad feedback, contact the bay, you can get your money back, you should be entitled to cancel the order if you wish, they should not have used your money to pay for the 8800GT when its not in stock I dont think.
 
Im looking into my options now....

I just cant believe the cheek of some people tbh. Im seething with anger right now.

Threaten to leave bad feedback and that you will chase refund via Paypal or credit card company. Tell the seller there will be no negotiation, and that you want a refund.

Hency why you should never buy a new card off of Ebay... it's not worth the hassle. :(

i know, but i was desperate to order one, and i had the Money in my paypal account... OCuk dont take paypal (they shoud really *hint hint*)


I knew there would be a delay as stocks are selling faster than a fast thing. but 31 days to complete an order jeez...


edit: Just received an email from the guy, he really appologises for the "un expected" delay (come on we all knew they would sell out asap, thats why i asked him in the first place about delays etc.)

However he's going to be sending me an OC version in the next week, (apparently he'll have a few OC ones this week) as compensation and he's refuned me £30.... So i cant really complain to much, as i'll get a better card for £159.

**mental note to mysel, dont use ebay for computer hardware ever again**
 
Question

How many of your 8800GT cards are loud?

(for the record mine is quieter than my 320MB GTS)

As long as the fan is spinning at a max of 40%-45% its very quiet.

It seems by default the BIOS on these cards has been programmed to run the fan at 40% until the cards hit 100°C then the fan will increase to 100% at which point its louder than a HD 2900XT! :eek:

Would I be daft even contemplating to SLI x2 GT's with my current CPU? I'm guessing I'll see minimal benefits compared to the GTS? I only game (at the moment) at 1280x104 but I'd like to crank up the eye-candy. Will x2 cards allow me to do this?
