8800GT Ramblings Thread

You're not allowed to mention competitor pricing.
Thanks for the confirmation, I was unaware of that rule.

However, I have to say in the last two weeks I've seen loads of posts with mentions of competitor pricing which is why I didn't think it was an issue.

If I can get a Zotac 512MB one for around £155, would it be worth my while trying to flog off my 2900 Pro?

Maybe your not aware of how many people have taken "forced vacations" from this forum because of this thread too lol :p

I was unaware before this thread too though, think i missed out on trouble with a ultra fast edit.

Got my temps sorted, the pic is straight after running 3Dmark06.

Haha keep breathing it will be with you soon! :D

Is that idle temps there? and are the memory heatsinks sticking on ok?

No the 43c is the top temp it hit during a 3dmark06 run, at the clocks showing, idle temp is 34C in windows ( the 92mm fan fitted is at 100% from MB header but its a quiet fan.)

The thermal tape is Poooooooo, one heatsink has already fallen off, why I am not running the mem that hard :)

AS5 used on the Core

How do you put heatsinks on the RAM if i decide to get the accelero, i want something that runs nicely without having to tinker with it again?

Also it is easy to apply extra voltage to the graphics through a bios edit or something after getting lower temps?

Just picked up my Asus 8800GT .. im all excited, Xmas has come early :D . sorry just had to share this lol

I've had my Inno3d 8800GT since November 1, seems like an eternity :D

Same except I've only had mine since the 3rd :P.

If I can afford to sell my 8800GT and get a GTX when prices come down or the next highish end card I probs will just for something new to mess around with.
