Hey jrodga2k5,
just run my PoV 8800GTS 320 with the Mem set to 1003!!!
what kinda speed can you get outta your RAM

Nice the PoV's seem to give nice clocks! I have only ran at 900 so far, 2GHz wil be possible no doubt!

I just wanted to try mines out at GTX speeds sio thats why I went for the 650core and the 900mem i may be tempted to try it harder tho ;)

I would want to run everything at 1680x1050. Would i be a fool to get this card instead of 640mb?

Im gona be gaming at 1680x1050 and decided to go for the 640mb card just in case games in the future might need it and its only a little more cash.

its true innit, I think it may well be helpful. For current gen its a no brainer but for things like Alan Wake, its bound to make a difference!

I been trying to make my mind up between GTS and GTX for a month and now it has just got harder. I am currently thinking the EVGA 320 Super clocked is worth the extra £26 as the step up option allows an upgrade to the next GTX or a 640GTS. What you guys think?

See i think it depends on the revision of the Hiper, that cheaper unit on OCUK seems to hold those values but I will double check my PSU when I get home just to make sure

Yeah i didn't get mine from OCUK, infact being an complete idiot I can't even remember where I got mine from. All I know is that the serial number on the back has a MK2 at the end and the box doesn't have that AMD badge on it rather it has a NVidia SLI certified sticker instead.

These cards will work fine on the Hiper TypeR 580w PSU's, even the GTX will work, the Hipers are Crossfire certified for 2x x1950 XTX's which will eat a helluva lot more power than a single GTS/GTX.

Hoo boy, now do I buy the 320Mb or the 640Mb version. I'll have think about it. Thanks for the help.

From the reviews I have read, they say 1600x1200 is fine for 320MB, though at 1920x1200 it is 50/50 which one is the better buy.

Guess it depends, if you are using 1280x1024 for example, then get the cheaper card, and save that extra 50 pounds in the "next upgrade jar". I will buy the 320MB version, and I am using a 1680x1050 screen.

None of the reviews take that screen size in to account I am afraid, so I just place performance between 16x12 and 12x10 :)

I have no doubt it will be, I was more moaning that no review site seems to think people have 20" widescreens, yet so many cater for 800x600
My quarrel aswell, hardly any 1680x1050 benches. Quite frankly, dire.

A wise decision and it will put you in good stead for upcoming titles my friend. :)

I play all my games at 1280x1024 with 4xAA and full AT. Surprisngly my 6800GS seems to cope in most cases apart from Oblivion and GTR2 with a full grid. No matter I have found the card I am going for.

The Gainward Bliss 8800GTS Golden Sample 320Mb version. OCuk sell the 640 version but they don't have the 320 one yet so I've had to look elsewhere.

550Mhz GPU
1760Mhz Memory
£220

Should be sweet. :)

Why not get the BFG version from OCUK? I think the clock speeds are the same, but you get a life time waranty with BFG?

*EDIT* just realized the memory clock is different :)
