Sorry for the newbie question but I have bought the below and wanted to test CPU was @5 as advertised, whats the best way to test this. I am getting 4.385 on CPU Bench stress test.

It was also part of a full system so I jave not installed anything or touched anything.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
  • 1 x 8Pack Elite Tier Overclocked i7 8700K @ 5GHz Gaming Bundle = £1,244.99
    • Motherboard:Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 Intel Z370 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
    • CPU Cooler:8Pack Asetek 570LX 240mm High Performance CPU Cooler - 115X
    • CPU:Intel Core i7-8700K 5.0Ghz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151 Pre-Binned Processor - OEM

Total: £1,255.49
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Never mind ran cinebench and saw CPU go to 5000.00MHz :)

I just realized that I never turn off a led that is where I indicated in the photo. it's red and you can see a lot.
Is there no way to turn it off?
It's always on: -S

Is there any down side to using high performance all the time? I note that it stops the processor clocking down from its max multiplier - but power usage is still affected by load.

The difference at idle between Balanced (800mhz 8700K @ 1.31V) and Performance (5000mhz 8700K @ 1.31V) is 3W.

Hi Guys,

Been a while since my last upgrade and these 8700's look pretty great so am thinking of grabbing an 'easy to install' bundle to fit inside this case. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-enthoo-pro-mid-tower-case-with-window-white-ca-016-pt.html
I'll be doing mostly VR and Music Production and am currently on a i7-2600, 980ti with 16gb and looking to add a 1080ti later on.

Sorry but I am totally lost on these new chipsets does anyone have a good link explaining the differences?
Also I'm not a big overclocker, so wondering if one of these bundles would be overkill for me or would it be better considering I'll be using a Vive and a lot of heavy music software?
Also how easy are these bundles to install exactly?

Thanks and sorry if this is the wrong thread for this type of Question.

New Taichi BIOS out today with updates to ME and micro code. Will test it soon regarding the AVX bug. Just a lot of settings to write down first before I can upgrade.

Edit: AVX bug is still there. Same micro code revision as well. Waste of time.
