Hi 8pack, quick question - I'm running one of you're 5.1 ghz binned 8700k's under a custom loop and can get it to 5.1ghz in Prime95 26.6 (which it'll do for an hour) but nothing else. More specifically if I run the AIDA64 stress test, it will go to 5.1ghz but ONLY if stress CPU is only option selected. Tick anything else apart from graphics and It goes back to 4.9ghz. Real bench also runs at 4.9 ghz. Very frustrating, why is this??

Thanks Rezz, you're a legend. Took the AVX offset to 0 and it went at full speed. Should have worked that out myself really, but to be fair the last pc I built was based on a Q9450 on a lga 775 asus motherboard about 10 years ago and AVX offset didn't exist in the same way it does now (or at all!!)

Both CPU-z and HWiNFO are buggy reading core clocks with AVX offset, at least on my older setup. If someone wants to check if this is the case with their 8700k I would recommend downloading RealTemp and checking the average multi either through the GT app or via logging with the i7 Turbo app. On my system with one AVX instruction per 5ms both CPU-z and HWiNFO show a multiplier of 27x where as the average measured with other software is 29.7x. Running CBR15 at the same time agrees with the 29.7x multi bench score wise while both CPU-z and HWiNFO continue to show 27x.

Because of avx instructions within aida. Set to 0. But why do you need to run this...?? It passed prime so just use it as normal...

Yes exactly as that.

All bins in stock again!!! With a new 4.9ghz Bin added, These CPU need more than our usual 1.375v for 5ghz but will almost all do 5ghz with 1,4v hence we have made this SKU.

So there is now a 4.9ghz bin?

Does this mean the 8700k bin (not pre-binned) is the runts of the litter? or are they just sold from new stock?

Close any background programmes that aren't needed whilst running cinibench as they can have an big impact on scores

Hello, everybody,

For the last 2 months I have been stable my 8600k at 5Ghz, with ASrock k6 Z370 v1.20
LLC 1, offset +0.004

REalBech passed the test with intervals in the vcore between 1.232 and 1.248. all ok.

Now I have updated Asrock k6 to version 1.3 and the vcore values with the same configuration have changed: -S
Why? Why?
Realbech now has 1,200 and 1,216 intervals.

What's happened?

I'm back to version 1.2 and it's fixed, but I'd like to have the latest version, which would be the best.

Help plez

The latest version is not the best.

It's not an upgrade in any way shape or form.

My advice always is don't change if your system is stable and running well and only change if it's not running well and your sure the new bios contains a fix you definitely need.
