I need to start playing this again, kind of given up again recently as the clan I play for [FUB] Gaming have USA based servers which are v.difficult to play in competively. High ping f t l...

If you only get this issue when loading new maps chances our your pc is loading the game faster than the server, or at least that seems to be the issue from what i know.

It only seems to be the fast loaders, inc me, on our server that get this error. Good thing though is 2nd time you always get in and it loads faster that the first time, so still make it in before most. Plus we've upped our round time start so that the slower loading clan members have a chance to get in before all the flags have gone :D

Apart from trying to fragment your files to slow the loading down one thing that helps is not hitting the 'join' button as soon as it loads, if you leave it that screen times out anyway and should auto join.

Doesn't always stop the above issue but does help minimise it.
 
Anyone managed to get project reality to actually work properly on vista x64?

I used the new bf2.exe so i can address more than 2gb of ram, and now i can actaully load the map but after a while i get the boot.

And if i close the game, i can't start it again until i restart, it just hangs and i can't even open the task manager but other things seem to work...and if i try restart it takes about 2 minutes just to shut down.

You just copy your original BF2 folder. Then install the patch, then rename the 2 folders and finally setup a shortcut to run the beta and it's all good.

I've done several of these, all using this same technique and it has never failed on me yet. ;)

Don't want to mess my chance of playing BF2 on my days off by having no servers to play on, Damn decisions, decisions :confused:
