A Harry Potter thread.

Just back from seeing this, and whilst I don't doubt it was a very good film, the end just felt a little off. I know they try to stay in the confines of the book, but you can't age the actors the same way you can in your mind, they still looked like late teens/young adults not the mid thirty somethings they are meant to be.

Got tickets tomorrow. Let's see how if it's any good, not holding any hopes. However we are eating and drinking cider afterwards, so not all lost.

Yeah I thought the exact same

As much as me and my girlfriend REALLY want to see this, I just HATE kids/crowded cinemas/fat people noshing all way through the film and groaning/people who talk all the way through/chavs

So i'm going to wait a week or 2 before seeing it at a really early viewing, in 3d ofc. :D

The very reason I got 4 August tickets at the BFI Imax. Three weeks after opening, midday, midweek, great seats, no unpleasant types :)

^ Posts 89 and 90 above are a little contradictory...

I really want to try it, but can't bring myself to it. The price is shocking.

I'd go and treat it more as an experience than your regular cinema trip. When you first go in, there is a bar where you can have a few drinks whilst you wait and you can arrange for food / drinks / snacks to be brought to you.

The seats themselves are very comfy and are nowhere near as 'turbo wobbly' as the rest of the cinema - they are also in couplets so you only really sit with one other person and share a table.

Makes the idea of a date at the cinema almost a good idea to be honest. Almost ;)

Take the missus!

Just got back after paying £10 for a student ticket! What a rip off.

Film was great though and was probably the only Harry Potter film I've really enjoyed, although it may be because it's the only one I haven't read.

What is the 3D like, worth the extra or does it get in the way?

Barely noticed the 3D and it made the film very dark - avoid.

The film was ridiculously dark even in 2d, just like the first part they've turned all the lights out so as to give it a dark and gritty feel. It's going to look awful on most tv's come dvd/bluray release.
