I'm pretty sure 2 of the children were born in the UK, and as such are British.Their right to stay should have ended when he left the UK. The reason he brought them in was so that they can be close together, so they can go join him

Being born in Britain should not (if it does) lead to automatic British citizenship.

It doesn't (not since 1983). However a child born in the UK to foreign nationals has the right to be treated in the same way as a child born to British nationals....the welfare of the child is considered of the primary concern by immigration services and border control.
However, being as Abu Qatada was given asylum and was settled in the UK when his Children were born (assuming they were born in the UK) then they have the right to a British Passport and are considered legal British Citizens.
They should have been told to apply for Jordanian citizenship imho.

Why?
If they have the right to British Citizenship then they should retain that right...the sins of the father should not be conveyed upon the children.
I'm saying they shouldn't have that right.
His children born here have no rights to be a UK citizen as he out stayed his 4 year period.
So you would punish them for something their father done?
How is it a punishment? These people are not ethnic Britons, so it's not as though they are being refused citizenship in their homeland. I'm not saying they should be deported, but I don't see why they should become British citizens and attain rights to vote and claim benefits.

The law however states differently. They are UK citizens and where exactly are you going to deport them to? They have no other citizenship. They are British, they have committed no crime and luckily we live in a society that doesn't punish children because their parents break the law.
Ethnic Britons? Define "homeland"?
Are you suggesting that only "ethnic Britons" (whoever they are) should have rights?
If a person has no citizenship there are loads of places they could go i.e the USA.
Or those who was not born here(wife ect) can leave asap. If the children that was born here can either stay(on their own) or go with their mother.
As a tax payer I don't want my money going to the likes of them.
