Afghanistan - 20 years on

There’s a video on Twitter of someone who’s been hung from a rope attached to one of the helicopters the US kindly left behind and then flown over the streets of Kandahar like a scene out of Scarface. Great optics.

Was also a fair few escort planes. IFF would be switched off so not trackable.

Yeah there is a ton of traffic we can't see via flight radar sites, etc. much of the time there have been multiple refuellers either doing runs in and out and/or circling on the Pakistan border which you only occasionally see and/or pop up as they appear over the Gulf, along with plenty of 130s (aside to the ones which do show up) and smaller combat planes, etc. which never appear and/or are "towed" in by a bigger aircraft which is the only one to show up, etc. etc.

The logistics of the airlift operation are mind boggling - not only having to coordinate a vast number of military and civilian aircraft from a dozen nations involved in the airlift they also had to operate alongside and in and out of 2 of the busiest civilian air corridors in the world without incident while skirting Iranian air space. Not to mention keeping all those aircraft crewed, maintained and airworthy with quick turnarounds and intensive use.

So many chances for a simple miscalculation to end disastrously it is a miracle it went off with relatively little incident as it did.

And that isn't even scratching the surface of the many challenges involved.

Americans are out of Kabul. Airport is now in the hands of the Taliban…..

See what happens now.

Not a lot. Pretty much ever airline ended their flights to Afghanistan.

Most borders are closed to. I think the plan now is to just wall them in. They could try and trek through the desert but they'll be drone fodder.

These are contract dogs used by the US army.

I can see biden stamping on baby bunnies next.

There's absolutely no reason why Biden would have anything to do with what you're accusing him of, that will have been the whomever was the commander of the garrison.

No amount of faux concern for a few dogs (if we're to even believe the story) is going to stop the fact that Biden achieved our exit from the country and that is what he will be remembered for.
