Afghanistan - 20 years on

There's absolutely no reason why Biden would have anything to do with what you're accusing him of, that will have been the whomever was the commander of the garrison.

No amount of faux concern for a few dogs (if we're to even believe the story) is going to stop the fact that Biden achieved our exit from the country and that is what he will be remembered for.

Do you think so?
Putting the dogs to one side, I don’t think that his exit strategy went down well with the peanut gallery back home.
There again, I have three intelligent friends in the U.S., two attorneys and a judge, who won’t hear a bad word about Biden.

I do like how the narrative is being created that he achieved an exit. He retreated. The Taliban won.
I’m not saying they were wrong to retreat and flee the country, but let’s call it what it is. A retreat.

In 2 years time no one will be talking about it. In fact in 6 months time I'll be surprised if anyone is talking about it outside of the GOP. Attention spans at record all time low.

If it wasn't for the loss of a US lives in the bombing attack it would probably have been largely forgotten by this time next week :s people do indeed have short and selective memories.

Not the parents that gave biden a mouth full as their children came off the plane.
And most of the US army.
Wonder why biden was looking at his watch every 5 mins? meds time.

I’ve had another look at the list of US equipment left behind and it’s the 16,000 night vision devices and the 60,000 radios that are going to be a problem for Afghanistan’s neighbours or NATO if they get sold on.

With a bit of fairly basic technical assistance, the Taliban (or whomever buys them) could have both a same tier NV capability as NATO and reliable infra/inter team comms. While I’d be surprised if any US crypto gear was left behind, the standard US short range radios are frequency agile and wouldn’t be easy to intercept unless you had ELINT assets circling overhead.

Dunno about all of the *stans but if they mess with Tajikistan they'll likely have Russia come down on them hard. Iran and likewise China are well equipped to deal with them but could be a thorn in their side if they were dealing with issues elsewhere. The dynamic with Pakistan seems all over the place so don't know what to expect there.

One of the bigger issues probably is if some of this gear gets sold on into conflicts in other regions.

US forces already consider that they have lost night time dominance and have new imaging systems currently being tendered, including full on fire control for existing weapons and new battle rifles. There's an awful lot of upgrades being tested for the average soldier to use.

In a few months time the attention will be that Biden potentially let terrorists into the US...doesnt matter if there is any truth in it they will just sow the seeds of doubt to make people angry at the dems in a bid to win more 2022 seats and remove any chance of the dems holding onto the house.

In 2 years time it will have been rebranded as a glorious success, I mean you still have people who frothed for 4 years about Russia collusion believing it to be true even though there was no evidence. Biden has ceded more to Russia in 3 months than Trump did in 4 years and nobody is concerned anymore because the media aren't pushing it.

The public today can be best described with the Pied Piper fable.

That's already happened.

They let the afghans free from the camp with out checking.

More heavy gear for the Poor Bloody Infantry to lug around. The 5.56x45mm cartridge has been found lacking in terms of effective range and terminal ballistics when fired through the M4A1 carbine and the US are heading back towards more powerful 0.300”/7.62mm rounds again.

So they should have left anyone who helped the US to their fate? Are you mates with deuse?
