Afghanistan - 20 years on

Shush, you can’t say that on here, apparently they’re all single scared men leaving no wife or kids behind.

Sorry, but Arabs are cowards, and I’m not the only one to say that.

I'm saying nothing controversial or untruthful. I've been to that pit of a country many times, the stone age attitude towards anyone who isn't a grown man is pathetic and backwards. My mate still gets counselling from a decade ago when he was covered in the blood of a woman who was executed (shot) right in front of him by ANA as he tried to comfort her after being raped by Taliban. She was executed because "it did her a favour and saved her from the painful stoning she'd receive now she's worthless after her rape".

Don't get me started on the scum bags we'd target with the little harem of child sex slaves. There won't be a Taliban 2.0, it'll be the same old **** show. Bravo world.

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/08/17/asia/afghanistan-women-taliban-intl-hnk-dst/index.html Absolutely sad and just think about what these women are going through right now havign fought hard all these years to try get some sense of freedom back but now have it all squashed with no hope for any future again :/

Looks like 90% men. That's what is wrong with these cultures.

This context isn't a culture thing. The Taliban's "culture" is that no women are allowed outside without a male with them such as brother, husband, father etc. The reaosn almost everyone you see are male is because over there, young men especially have nothing to lose, so fleeing is easy for them. Women have kids, families etc that they won't leave without and taking kids to places like Kabul airport to flee in that madness would be impossible as well so what else can they do but hide away and hope for the best?

This was covered in a reddit thread yesterday and explained really well as to why the images show mostly men.

I’m seeing a lot of very melty men claim other men are cowards for fleeing a war torn country where their economic and physical security has been completely erased.

How ever, it always seems to come from people who’ve never served in the military or been in any real danger, and would probably call the police if someone in a hoody stood too close to their car.

Have you ever fired a gun at someone Rob?

No no, you don’t get it, it’s because Arabic men are cowards, vs you know, forums poster RobFosters.

This is something that stereotypically is true but is also very not true. The thing with a lot of Arabs, as a gross generalisation, is their thinking, when it comes to taking the initiative for themselves, etc. many have culturally been brought up under a different mindset. Under the right direction or circumstances you'll find them as brave as anyone else.

Many are not brought up to think for themselves so have no idea how to react when faced with a situation which forces them to.

That's pretty much it, which backs my point that it's cultural. The ANA and ANP, on the whole, were clowns too. Their attitudes to learning, discipline and the reality of matters were pretty juvenile. Sure, there were some stand-up guys, but on the whole? A joke.

Whilst you're partially correct, the fact remains that most women will be left by their husbands to be alone with their children. This is how it is in tribal Afghanistan.

Odd that it's all in English

The official reports from the former Afghan president were the same all in English which I thought odd at the time. Its for the benefit of the west of course. The taliban in turn have become much more adept at PR basically present a face lie through the teeth and expect foreigners and the US press in particular to lap it up. Just like our govt addressing us infact.

A surprising number do understand at least basic English even if they can't speak it especially in the cities.

For stuff like business it is considered important to have at least some grasp of it.

Even in some of the more remote parts of the Middle East/Asia only in very rural areas these days will you see very little or no English use on signs and products, etc.

There's hardly any Arabs in Afghanistan....

Someone made a very good point on radio2 today, that Afghans generally don't have a national identity like say us or America, theyre not united at all, lots of different ethnicities, and probably thousands of different tribes so theyre not all going to unite under one banner to fight, which is a shame.

Some did try to fight the Taliban until they ran out of ammunition and were then promptly executed when surrendering.
