So we can take £20 a week off the poorest people in the country, but give a murderous regime half a billion?Boris just said us tax payers will give the terrorists\Taliban £ 1/2 billion! why
Seems about right.

Helping stabilise Afghanistan will probably save a decent chunk of money ultimately. Fewer refugees, for example. So we can take £20 a week off the poorest people in the country, but give a murderous regime half a billion?

Cutting £20/ week from the poorest shouldn't be used as a reason to cut elsewhere. But, also, I agree we shouldn't be cutting £20 from the poorest (Tories gonna Tory, I guess)

Yes because everybody is capable of workhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58241006
Obviously don't agree with giving the Taliban any money but no one is being deprived of £20 a week because there are masses of job vacancies
We will have to see. The Taliban are in an Interesting position right now. If they want to stay in power, they need to build a functional government and society. The US-lead invasion singularly failed to do that, with an awful lot more money invested. It will go straight in to the pockets of the Taliban. and they will use it to buy weapons.

The majority of people who receive credits in the UK are in work.
Work more hours then. I used to have to watch what I spent down to the pound while working and never got a single penny from the government, get some overtime, get a few hours part time on a weekend, start your own little side business. Government isn't responsible for your income.
The Tories swept into power with immigration and benefits scroungers as their main targets, and here we are over a decade later with the same perceived issues. The majority of people who receive credits in the UK are in work.
Incoming standard reply, tories, underfunding, build more houses, rubbish infrastructure blah de blah de blah
That's great. Now who is going to look after the children while they're working these extra hours?
The other parent, grandparents, siblings, aunties and uncles, friends, etc. You know, the people you knew could support you when you decided to have kids.
Silly comment. You do realise circumstances change right?
It feels counter-intuitive to both oppose immigration and to oppose support for people to have kids. Like, who is going to be tomorrow's worker? That's not most people though, most people just go through life making poor decisions.
Watching Russia today the Russians are loving it almost gloating huge propaganda win for them and the Chinese.
It was 10k 48h ago. I wonder what it will be a month from now.So we will be taking in 20k Afghan refugees over the next few years, 5k in the first year.
I was expecting more tbh, that actually seems quite a small number.

If we extrapolate the data 16 millionIt was 10k 48h ago. I wonder what it will be a month from now.
US taking a huge PR and credibility hit. Reduces their influence on the region, and perhaps world, and opens the door for Russia and China to fill the void.I don't know what the Russians think they have. The Taliban dislike them just as much, maybe more because they didn't care how much collateral damage they did.
