Yeah I got an email yesterday about it but of course its irrelevant for me, because I gave my account back. I dont know if they disabled it, it might still be active I guess. But I deleted the folder from my harddrive and I cant really be bothered to redownload 20-odd Gig on the offchance that the game will have turned into something I like :)

I would say hope it has what you are looking for, but you're currently happy with it as it is, so no point in me hoping as it already has what you are looking for :)
 
My younger bro is planning playing the 360 version (does not have the cash to splash on a new PC he is only 11:)) but I am wondering how they will ever fit this huuuuggggeeee game onto a DVD?

hmmmm I guess it would have to be multiple DVD's and the game will require pretty much all the space the 20gb version hd has to offer :p
 
i never knew this was multiplatform...but yeah not only is there a huge patch coming, but there is really long downtime, and also a character wipe, so prepare for it to be really busy on sunday or whenever the servers come back up.

Is the 360 getting the MMO version?
I thought the 360 Conan was a different game to the one we are reading about here.
 
Yeah they are getting the MMO version...not too many details around about it yet. They have said that the 360 version will come out after the PC version, but havent said if thats a week after, a month after or a year after. They said the 360 would come with some console specific features, havent yet said what those might be, as yet there is no definitive confirmation of whether 360 owners can play with their PC friends, or whether they will be on totally seperate servers.
 
my experience has been good for this game, coming from a wow/swg/eq background i feel this game is the one i will play next. im also in the war beta and well i dont even play the beta anymore is all i can say...
 
i think peoples perception of what beta should have is wrong, AoC beta is a more finished game than WoW was at release (in the US, EU version was several months later and was much more updated)

Heheh, the exact opposite of me, I still play my WAR beta, but not my AoC beta. Just goes to show that everyone has different tastes I guess :)

Very true, had the WAR beta since last summer. Stopped playing it after thinking it was still absolutely horribly when they reopened it in December.

AoC i'm enjoying thoroughly again. There was quite a while where i'd started to lose faith and get quite bored with the game, doing the 1-80 pve content over and over and over again solo. But then people who are in my existing guild started getting in and the fun of the game appeared again. Now with the missing content hopefully to be added with the downtime over the next couple of days i'm hoping the game will start shining as the game i'd been looking forward to again when i first heard about it.

Indeed, there are after all still people out there who swear by Matrix Online and Runescape...would be a dull world if we all liked the same things I suppose ! :)

Hmm that reminds of a film i watched years ago for soem reason. Set in the future where books are burned and people practically emotionless, and police hunting down those with books and 'different' ideas. I forget the name, but not a film of george Orwells fahenheit 451.

Got mixed feelings about the upcoming test on Sunday. It being my 1st time in the AoC world, and only getting 3 hours seems a bit mean ;]

I'll probably get lost or something!

That's assuming i can get the new patch and all.

The Conan game on the 360 at the moment is a different game.

The 360 is getting the MMO but they've said it'll be a year after PC version release in an interview I read recently.
 
This might solve the current down time... Big changes are happening including a memory leak so i'm told:

Today’s General Beta downtime will be an extended one due to the massive preparations for this Sunday’s Tech Test. We may need to keep the servers down all the way up to the tech test. During this downtime we will be deploying a big new update, with lots of new content and a huge amount of fixes. Simultaneously we will do maintenance on our hardware, to prepare our databases and game servers for both the upcoming tech test as well as the new, fresh and improved content.

To enable you to play immediately after we open the servers, we will provide the update in a "pre-update file" you can download and install, and open up for patching prior to opening the servers. We will also keep you informed of the progress via the forums and email.

This update brings so many changes that we will perform a character wipe, this will help us ensure the accuracy of our data collection and provide a much needed review of the new content from start to finish.

We appreciate your patience and dedication as we continue our launch preparations. There would be no Age of Conan without you!

Nice, thanks for that. Had been looking for an update, I knew it was down till Sunday but that was it.
