Or the steam workshop for mods

Or I'm sure to play with people who haven't been playing it for the past 13 years so I don't get stomped.
 
Picked up my copy. Can't wait. The original game was pretty much spot on. Now with steam, brilliant! The price you can't really grumble as this will hopefully take many headaches away from playing this online. Had many hundreds of hours fun from this game. Can remember buying it from electronics boutique many moons ago. Good times ahead.

Ocuk multiplayer anyone?

This. You're paying for the out of the box resolution support, including multi-monitors. You also get a functional multiplayer without having to download a couple of third party programs because the community is split over several different services. And then on top of that you have the workshop integration which lets you easily download mods for the game and keep them up to date.

A pretty good deal all around, I'd say.
 
Maybe I'm spoilt by Civ 5 and such these days but well... it just doesn't look that good.

Also I cant say it defined an age, maybe Dune or Dune 2, maybe even the first C & C defined RTS.

If this finds its way onto GoG I'll really feel spoilt this year :)
These days I have simple tastes.. and frankly between the stronghold HD re-releases, and Settlers 3 gold, its been a brilliant couple months

It requires Steam for multi-player.
 
Really cant wait for this, played hundreds of hours on aoe 2 especially with a group of my irl friends the steam support for online as well as workshop support sold it for me don't even care about high resolution!
