Air fryers

Hmm I need to grab a decent dual zone fryer for my mum. I don't want to splash out on the 9.5 dual zone Ninja that I have so I'd prefer something cheaper. That Instant Vortex twin drawer for £199 looks nice but its a bit more than I want to spend.
it's your mum .. din't she give you everything that you needed ?? i know if my parents where still here i would .. never mind trying to pay there bills ....

If you have/know someone with a Costco membership my parents have this, £100 delivered, will be cheaper in store. They use it all the time since having.

I'd agree with you there but sadly you don't know that I've just paid for my dads funeral and all the asian ceremonies that follow it so I'm rather skint for a month or two.

Cheers mate. Yes I don't have a Costco membership but keep hearing of them having good things. I'll check the site now and see how much membership stuffs is otherwise I'll hang back for a Currys or Amazon deal.

There is a Salter one on Amazon, 8.2L for 148.30. Or 7.6L 135.00

Seems a decent one.

I got the Ninja 9.5 dual zone one which was slightly more than I wanted but I decided to just use the Very BNPL option so just paying a bit monthly. Been really useful.

Well had a bit of a brain fart today. Was about to pressure some potato's in the Ninja 9 in 1 air fryer. Put potato's and water in pot but forgot the basket which I use so potato's aren't sitting in water.

So then I stupidly lifted pot out, put basket in Ninja and proceeded to pour water and potato's into Ninja without the pot  so water everywhere.

I've taken the bottom off, there's electric's underneath which were a bit wet, think most the water just came out the bottom, no electric's sitting on bottom so shouldn't of had too much water on them.
I've used the PC air blower thing I have to blow all around, water was coming out of screws etc.
Currently its sat in front of gas fire having a dry.

What do people reckon, leave it a day to dry longer, leave it longer maybe and see what happens when I turn it on, it was on at time of watering it and didn't trip anything, though obviously it was just on, not cooking.

Starting to finally get around to researching air fryers. I may get one that also has other functions, the Ninja ones seem to get consistently good reviews.

The Ninjas have the enamel coated baskets which are more hard wearing than the usual baskets of other fryers.
2 other fryers i had both went in the bin after the baskets started to rust with both dishwasher and handwash cleaning.
The Ninja basket is still fine after 1 year of use.

Have that one. Decided to get it vs the ninja simply due to the knob.

I find it really annoying to push buttons to adjust temp and time. When saw videos saw people pushing that button to up the temp put me right off.
It also has a light and little window. Not super important but useful when you are figuring out times for the first time.

If it had a button I'd have gone for the ninja.

Edit. Not sure how it compares to the other brands but I use it all the time. Really, only use the oven for things too big for the airfryer. This basically means pizzas.

If the oven broke now I genuinely do not think I would need to replace it. Probably get a pizza oven and keep the airfryer. That's all.

Sorry for grammar issues. Am on a bus tapping this out.

I ended up buying that twin draw instant vortex and took delivery of it just yesterday.

Made a nice meal for my mother and she was quite impressed.

I see what you mean about the one knob for everything and I do agree when compared to my AF400 ninja dual draw.

I find this instant vortex very light though so I have to support it with one hand when removing the drawers or it’ll lunge forwards. The built in light/window isn’t bad but the handles obscure a lot of your view of the food.

I seriously dislike the preheat feature though. I chucked the food into it and went about my business elsewhere only to return to it and see that it had completed its preheat phase and was waiting for me to ‘add food’. Was hoping it would be like the ninja there, where Start really means start and you’re left to do your own stuff.

Slamon and chips came out well and the trays are longer than my ninja but not as deep. I prefer it this way tbh.

Also that plasticky smudgy top lid I am not too keen on really. For £180 that I paid, it isn’t too bad at all.

I can thoroughly recommend one of these...

Superb bit of kit.

Have the same as JonRGV250 and have been using for a while now without any complaints.

Just got an Ninja AF451, went for this due to some comments here. My girlfriend made some Salmon in 8 minutes last night which is crazy, will see how it goes over the next days!

Do you or your mum still rate it?

My mum has said she wants one now, and it's £150 on Amazon and Argos. Reviews are still good.
