Airsoft ??

There isn't enough pictures in this thread :(

Agreed!

Forde if you pop down a site near you and get to know people then i'm sure some will be willing to lend things for films. Airsofters are as vain as they come, any excuse to show off their gear makes them weak at the knees.

I was thinking the same. I've found my nearest site: Chobham Ambush Adventures so will pop along some time when we have scripts etc finalised.

Is it worth buying online? There's a outdoorsy shop around the corner from me that can order in airsoft weapons, but I'm worried I might get a better price online. With a shop though, I can talk to them about stuff...

I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure now!

Used to be well into airsoft. Had over £1500 worth of kit at one point. In Guernsey there are no laws on FPS which meant I had a 130% tuned and customised MC51 with RIS rails/grip - absolute monster!

I've owned a lot of different brands but Tokyo Marui guns seemed the best made and best value for money - I've had MC51, Sig P226, G36c, Sig 551 to name a few. I've currently reduced my gear down to an M3 Super 90 shotty and an all metal 92F for backup - suits my game play as I much prefer close quarters.

Best gun I had was a Tanaka Mauser K98 with uprated scope, customised valves and barrel - 450fps on green gas if I remember correctly (I wasn't allowed to use red!)

Looked like this (basically the same as the one the Nazi General had in Enemy at the Gates).

Airsoft is better than paintball

Both have their plus points. I do agree on the whole Airsoft is better, but I did find whilst the paintball guns are not accurate in the least, when you eventually hit someone it is either obvious and the player owns up or one of the many marshalls spots it or you can even ask for a check.

In airsoft, the honour system is great but is open to abuse. I'm sure most are honest, but those that aren't do spoil it. The times I have played many people have complained that they saw players get hit and them not own up.

On the whole I enjoyed Airsoft more than paintball as you were only out for a few minutes when getting hit in airsoft, whereas paintball if you were unlucky and got hit very early in the game you would be sitting on your arse waiting for up to 15 minutes, which made it very boring.

The key is to keep shooting them until they own up - headshots normally do the trick! If after 2 clean hits they didn't own up I'd just flick to fully auto :D

Amount of players that deny they're getting hit when you can clearly see them BB's pinging off their mask etc!

Re-reading this thread was such a bad idea. Really need to get my act together and go again, its been far too long :( Would give me an incentive to get my Infinity Tac Carry fixed properly.

Snipers can be a real bug bear for the honors system. They spend half the game not shooting anyone and creeping around into what they think is a brilliant position, only to be spotted and shot. They can't take the fact they may not be Tom Berenger so they just hide and hope no-one calls them out on it.

Ive been airsofting now for about 3 years and part of the university of Portsmouth team, in my opinion its better than paintball for the realism factors! We've had a few debates about it in our society as to whether or not we consider Airsoft to be LARP (Live action role play) and i think to certain degree it is, its 50% about playing and 50% about your gear, your attitude, the look and all that stuff!

Thats not to say i dont like paintball, i still find it fun and go occasionally, i just prefer Airsoft because i find the community nice and the realism factor adds another nice incentive on top. (In my experience airsoft is also cheaper to play than paintball!)

Was that at the same site?

I play most @ Xsite in High wycombe and they won't stand for cheating. The marshalls aren't omnipotent though, it requires players seeing it to id the individual and inform them.

Wycombe has an airsoft site?! I've lived here five stupid years and never knew, dammit!

Yeah xsite airsoft, their main site is Lane End high wycombe, they've got a new CQB site called the outpost near dunstable ( i believe) and the possibility of a third called the paper mill somewhere.

Great sites (especially outpost) give em a bell if you fancy it :)
