Airsoft ??

I meant to get into airsoft..bought a proper M16 AEG especially and then it never happened! still have it now in perfect nick ! fired for about 5 minutes in the back garden to test it probably 6 years ago :( but you can't sell guns on a well known auction site :(

Anyone know where they can legally be sold? im getting old now anyway! :) (surely airsoft websites can't count as a competitor!)

Loads of buying and selling goes on here. Depending on the make you may not get much for a 6 year old AEG. There are also legislation you must be aware of. I.e. you can only sell to someone who has a defense against the VCRA, i.e. a member of an insured site, or a UKARA number.

If you're selling it cheap, email my trust ;)

Played both and preferred airsoft personally. The guns are so much better imo but yes the system is open to abuse. I play mostly in private games now so we all know each other which helps. No-one wants to be ousted as a cheater. :)

Nah, you can sell it all in bits on there, but apart from the more dedicated airsofter that would't appeal.
I've wanted a m16 for years, too :(

What, like collecting $3000 Japanese anime dolls? ;)

Or both?!!

I used to be well into airsoft a few years back but after moving to uni kind of forgot about it and sold off a lot of my gear. I spent a ridiculous amount on kit looking back. Some of the guns I had:

TM AK47
TM mp5k pdw
TM m3 super 90 shotgun
CA M15a4 Carbine
2x TM Desert Eagles, the hardkick ones
KJW m700 gas sniper
APS2 sniper
TM M16a1
TOP M60 DX
2X KWA mac 10 gas pistols
3x kwc glock 19s
beretta m92f gas pistol

Have just got the m15a4, shotgun and a few pistols left.

Is there anywhere around Bristol area that do public days? I havent played since well before the vcra bill or whatever it is so don't have any of the licenses?

In airsoft, the honour system is great but is open to abuse. I'm sure most are honest, but those that aren't do spoil it. The times I have played many people have complained that they saw players get hit and them not own up.

Most of the sites I've played airsoft pretty much all the regular players religiously adhere to the honour system and 99% of visitors do to. I've found the marshalls are usually spot on keeping an eye on it too.

Snipers can be a real bug bear for the honors system. They spend half the game not shooting anyone and creeping around into what they think is a brilliant position, only to be spotted and shot. They can't take the fact they may not be Tom Berenger so they just hide and hope no-one calls them out on it.

Don't like snipers much either - tho not for that reason, but for the fact that many of them are allowed higher fps rifles than normal but are supposed to keep to a certain minimum engagement distance but regularly come inside that distance because they think it funny to inflict pain on people (seems to be a regular theme with people who play as snipers).

I think it's all the pent-up frustration from sitting in a cowpat-floored bush for six hours, with nothing to do but rock back-and-forth chanting: "I am Bob Lee Swagger I am Bob Lee Swagger, chicks dig ghillies, chicks dig ghillies".

When i was a kid i had a gun that fired plastic balls.

I've just watched 12 grown men with replica assault rifles shoot 250 plastic balls at each other. Are they gay

How is this better than paint ball:confused:

I wouldn't exactly call it 'gay' - as far as gay stereotypes go soldiering (or a pretend amateurish attempt at it) isn't generally one of them.

Having said that I think its more something for kids. From what I've seen the people who take it too seriously and try too hard to dress realistically just end up looking like massive walts. Having said that if some teenagers want to put on on some DPM and go play army with their mates then I don't see an issue - prob quite good fun.

Any adults however would be far better off looking into joining a TA or RMR unit and learning how to soldier properly.

yeah right

because everybody who enjoys shooting their mates with BB guns would enjoy humping 15 kg bergens in the pouring rain over some god forsaken mountain just as much right ?

If joining the TA was only about running around in the woods having fun with your mates i'm sure more would do it. But its not.

Thats why adults play airsoft.

It's an SRC H&K 416, with a G&P Aimpoint T1 red dot sight, TM tracer and Magpul sling system (MS2, RSA and ASAP). So much fun in CQB skirmishes, should have got into this when I was younger! :D

The only thing I'm going to change is to replace the stock with a 417 type crane stock as I can't fit the battery with the stock closed at the mo.

Shouldn;t have read this thread! Have a cheap airsoft rifle at home in bits that I never got round to putting back together, I think I'll have to try and remember where it all went! I was in the process of putting in a Prometheus barrel and others new parts (can't even remember what other bits I had)

If I ever have more money than sense one of these would be fun Systema (PTW)

By the the VCR Act was and is a joke (also a past airgun enthusiast)
