Airsoft ??

I really miss playing now.

I just had a look through my old photos, I forgot I had so many damn guns. At least I didnt spend it on something else that was a waste :p

My best by far, with real steel parts;

These two were decent too:

Out of all the guns I had, maybe 100 or so in the years I played, I miss my MSG90 so much. The M1 Carbine was superb but overpowered and unreliable, the MSG90 was just a full auto sniper basically.

It was a TMP that started me on the whole thing, Counterstrike TMP addict.

Alas, they won't sell anything other than totally non-moving guns to film companies :(

They do a similar MP5K for £85, too so I was most disappointed! Thanks for looking though.

is this because you don't have a license?

Just buy it private and use it in the film.

edit : or is it they're worried you will order it, then film all scenes needing the gun in a couple of days then send it back under the DSA as long as you keep it looking good/undamaged?

None of us in the production company are registered airsoft players so we don't have a UKARA membership number and so cannot buy a gun 'off the shelf' as it were. We have to prove we are a legitimate TV production company when we want to buy a gun (which of course we can). I'll be doing lots of phoning around today as I have other props to find.

That Landwarrior site looks great - they even do a shell-ejecting pistol: Video of it in action here. Fingers crossed...

Wolf Armouries rent/sell guns for film production very frequently. their hire scheme is reasonably competitive, and if you've got the correct credentials (ie, you're an actual film company and not an amatuer) they'll sell/rent you anything you want.

They also have all three types of those shell ejecting Marushin pistols which are indeed extremely fun. pain in the ass to find all the shells though.

no problem :)
sorry for requoting myself but i was worried you'd missed my post above.

At one point while i was there I personally deactivated five brand new M4 four AKS74u and three AK47 for use in a film shoot in Morocco by a major UK broadcasting company :)

After reading this thread I think I may have to have a look see if any new site have opened in my area since I stoped doing it. I still have a fair bit of kit and my lovely tanaka AICS but just no where to use it when the place I used to go to closed a long time ago.

I'd agree the front is quite similiar to a G36C

Hmmmm :D sorry about being a bit sarcastic but apart from being black with a stubby flash eliminator I can't see it, sorry.

Anyway on topic, seeing the sniper rifles earlier, how accurate are airsoft rifles? Are we talking hit a pack of cards at 50yrds or only hit much bigger or much smaller? I'm used to air rifles hitting very small targets at 50yrds and while I know Airsoft is less powerful I've never shot one to gauge how accurate they are.

Well I bought a Marushin CZ75 (shell-ejecting!) semi-automatic pistol and a really cheap (£20) Franchi SPAS 12 Discoverline shotgun for non-close up work. Would've loved an M4 carbine or something, but the budget didn't stretch.

I bought from Landwarrior Airsoft as they had the least stringent requirements for me to prove who I was and were a very friendly bunch. Thanks for all your help guys, I will post pics when it all arrives (probably)!

The day after Airsoft will be a shock, from zero recoil to the kick of shotguns, also having a crack at Clay Pigeon shooting! (after a night around Blackpool on the lash no less!). :D
The recoil wont really be that bad tbh, a lot of people are put off by the thought of recoil. Youll be using ligher shells, (24/28g). The heavier stuff, 32g and above will give more of a kick, but theese are only used on live quarry, magnum shells are the worst for recoil, but again only for use on large live quarry such as geese. Youll certainly enjoy the clay shooting, great fun with a few mates.

So I went paint balling with a few mates a couple of months back and we are going to go again in a few weeks time and from stalking this thread I was wondering about giving airsoft a go instead. From the point of view of a group of mates with none of their own stuff is it still plausible to book a day of "games" as you do with paintball? How would it compare costwise? Is this sort of thing worth doing or is it only really recommended at the enthusiast level? Thanks

There are plenty of places (although not as many as paintballing) that rent the gear required for people to have some fun for the day, and cost wise the ammo is by FAR cheaper than paintballs, which is where the paintballing sites make their money

Had a wicked game last saturday, lots of up close, sneaky kills!

I'm having a bit of trouble with my SRC 416 with dry feeding. I use Marui mags and have tried the usual things, use a bit of silicon oil in mag, fire with mag upside down, etc. I've tried with both Marui and SRC mags and in both cases, I get dry feeds on both semi and full auto after firing 10-20 rounds. Can't be because I'm not winding the mags enough, I'm constantly winding! Has anyone got any advice on what the problem could be?
