Fans pushing in different directions is obviously the way forwards. Tens of years engineers have sought to solve the problem of cooling CPUs and they all have been barking up the wrong tree. A small fan pushing air perpendicular to a much larger fan is the answer

Not to nit pick, but the 5830 is in the lower full-size PCIE slot that only runs at x4 speed. When you (hopefully) remove the card when you install the CPU I would suggest reinstalling it into the upper full-size slot that runs at x16 speed.

Also, why is there a small florescent fan attached to your CPU cooler. By the look of it and the direction it is facing it is likely to do more harm than good for cooling.

Also, you may want to put the memory modules in the blue slots. It should work fine as it is, but it just says: "we recommend that you install the memory modules from the blue slots for better overclocking capability".

But apart from those small things you look good to go. May I ask what the situation is on getting a CPU to complete the build. Are you still waiting for scammers to get back to you?

(Btw there is a fella still selling a Phenom II 720BE on the MM for £65 inc. -it's a decent CPU and will get you up and running).

urm, okay, well im sorry i live in a Victorian house, i have stuff to do so my house is "lived in, not in showroom state, and i dont have a frickin high quality camara, is that really a sin considering i can even afford a replacement for my secondary monitor wich is crt wich i use frequently? hmm you forget im constantly, and i mean constantly strapped for cash!

But the thing is you've posted in the Project log section which would insinuate that you were going to post good pictures of your build which quite obviously you've still failed to do.

If you're strapped for cash why not wait until you have sufficient funds to purchase every single component from a reputable source (OCuk) amongst others to make sure that you're not 'scammed' again.

We got what we wanted right?? Decent pics!!! Lol

The bit that's been burnt with an iron? That'll do it.

no, it wasn't with a iron, basicly i got it, and the component was still there, but it had melted, i literately touched it and it fell of the motherboard, and there was black marks all around it, i don't think it was burnt with a iron i haven't touched it with i iron :L

Yeah, it is, for some reason i must have misread it or something i was under the impression both slots were x16, i had it lower so air would be directly taken from the bottom intake fans directly to the gpu, and also i think i cant use the pci2.0 x1 slot if ussing the x16 slot, so if it were x16 it would be used for the gpu, yeah, thanks for pointing that out

yeah possibly, but i will figure that out when temp monitoring and messing about with fan configurations.

okay, will do

Basicly lst night i was going to order a 720BE, but my mother said we will wait till Wednesday when we will ring the scammer again and try and this sorted, but if we dont i am going to order it probably Wednesday evening
