Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

Tetsu: Just ordered those black mesh PCI plates for both my Akasa Eclipse 62 & Lian Li Armour..:D Makes a suprising diffrence to the look of the case you posted..

Totally mate, unlike the lian li vented ones the holes keep the dust out with the machine off and allow the air to get pushed out with it on. I didnt know what to expect quality wise from them but was very impressed with the overall package for the price.

Looks wise they do look great as well, Any build I do from now on will have them me thinks.

They dropped the temps on my GPU about 5-6c

They do look nice Tetsu. Who makes those mesh plates? Does OcUK stock them? Might bung some in on my imminent PC order. Especially if dust won't get it but a bit more air circulation helps the graphics card keep a bit cooler. :)

Hey Marc,

They are made by nexus

do a google for "nexus pci plates". I got 2 packs delivered next day for just over £6.

To get them to vent out properly you need some positive pressure. but I'm sure some would dissapted naturally and for a couple of £ can't be bad. I can actually put a finger to the slots and feel them blowing.

Found some. :)

How would I achieve positive pressure? More fans blowing in than out? Or vice-versa?

Yeah more air being moved in then out. If the case is exhausting more air then what goes in, it will have to pull through all the little cracks in the case and be unfiltered and more dusty.

When you get the balance right the difference is big when it comes to how much dust is in the case as most of the air going in is filtered.

bare in mind that the psu exhausts as well.

On that build i've just done the exhaust is 800rpm and the intake is 2000rpm. I knock it down though to around 1600rpm+ with the psu i'm in a slight pos pressure

Cheers for the heads-up on the PCI plates Tetsu - have a feeling they'll come in useful for the AC 8800 Extreme cooler I've just put on my GTX. Got a lot of positive pressure in the box, but the AC is pushing the air around a little too much, whereas those PCI plates might help the lower front fan eject the air more directly.
