Dont bother it's 2-4 week delivery time.

They will only deal with it after 4 weeks.

I would contact the sorting office and maybe ask if they are holding a parcel for you but other than that Massdrop Support won't be of any use ATM

At it's quickest a week from the US, 3 weeks can be normal, sometimes it just stay in some sorting office for about a week for no reason at all. Sometimes I've seen it cleared the same sorting office twice. It makes no sense how they deal with parcels there. I have one right now that hasn't even reached the sorting office after a week. You can see all this on USPS tracking.

Headband leatherette and stitching mod completed. Took about 2 hours. I would post pictures but I'm knackered after a long day so time for a shower first, then pictures :D

Here we go. I was expecting the leatherette size to be small but what came in the mail was enough to cover a small dining table!

I'll be honest that looks "not that great".

Luckily my wife is one of those craft types, she sews, knits, crochets, etc. So if I have to do something similar I will tell her what needs to be done and leave her to it. I imagine removing it completely and using either an overlocker or a sewing machine would be much better (she has both).

On another note I got my letter from RM today £8 handling fee included the robbing ********, I mean does it cost anywhere near £8 to handle my goods when they are supposed to be posting it anyway? Not too fussed tbh, still a great deal just would prefer there to be zero handling fee, it's the fee which I don't agree with.
 
It looks fine in the flesh! I actually like the "hand made" stitched look on most things. Looks more personal and less factory production line, if that makes sense :p
 
I just don't like the wrapped around effect. I think your cable tie mod will suffice tbh for myself if I need to mod them, or I will ask the wife for advice on the best way to cushion them. I don't want to cut the bumps off, it ruins the aesthetics IMO and I hope to find a clean looking solution if I have any issue.

I shall be picking mine up tomorrow, they want exact money though (no change given) so will have to rummage the piggy bank as I don't deal with cash much.
 
phwoar that looks pretty "gaming" style headset to me which will be my main use for them

mrk are the X1's really inferior at everything? gaming, music and movies? obviously I will do some tests myself but if so Q701 is probably going to be my end game unless another deal like this comes along tbh.

Seriously the soundstage is the most spacious I've ever heard in a pair of headphones.
 
I'm beginning to wish I'd bought a pair of the green ones even though I already have the K702 - they look so badass.

If it's for everything, do the bass port mod and you'll have the best of all worlds, great sound stage, superb highs and mids and plenty of well controlled bass - it's a win win situation :)

No I wouldn't call them inferior, they're superb and will remain so for a long time yet I bet. It's a different sound and difficult to compare both like black and white. The Q701s have some music tracks do not favour them whereas they do favour the X1s yet I found no type of music that the X1s don't liek playing.

For soundtsage, detail and that "you're there with the singer" feel with vocals the Q701 I find better of course and now that I've done the bass port mod and let them burn in I'm enjoying them moreso.
 
Just to annoy everyone :)

I ordered an audio product from China, it was dispatched on Tuesday evening, arrived on Thursday morning and I didn't get charged customs.

First impressions are very bass light compared to the X1 so much that I think I'm going to sell em on. Movies sound so weak, the immersion factor is lessened without that low end welly.

Music and vocals is where they beat the X1 although not by much and not enough to make me dump the X1. I know what mrk means when he says they are more intimate, that being said bass again is lacking for my tastes.

Soundstage is good but to my ears it's on par or slightly better than the X1.

What colour do you have and what price would you be looking to shift them on for? (might get into trouble for this :p )
 
Did you try the bass mod? It makes a good difference :) Also what source for amplification?

My X1 has 18 watchers with 1 bid currently. With less than a day left I expect the bidding to go into full swing soon!
