Alien: Isolation...

The game has been out longer than that people where playing last Friday as the PS4 version was delivered early in Australia and other regions. ;)

What if he can't or doesn't want to shell out 35 quid right now.

On a slightly different note, I'd considered doing the same for the Walking Dead 2 game since the first one wasn't too different from watching a cartoon.

So having a quick read it seems this game is good and as close to the original alien film as you can get.

When the **** are we going to get a game as good and close to the Aliens film. You can still have suspense/atmosphere but also shoot some xeno's.

Because Alien > Aliens every time? :D

If you want to shoot them then Colonial Marines is a mere Steam purchase away!

Its not the money its the time and commitment you need with this type of game I
just dont have. Playthroughs are like recording a TV program! You can skip the adverts/loading screens and you can skip the failures or boring bits. :p

I watched all the walking dead playthroughs, yes I agree its like a cartoon but the story was compelling.

I have always liked watching people playing games! Computer I might add. :p

I'd defiantly recommend this. There is hardly any game left in that particular franchise.

I'm a huge Alien fan. More so Aliens, but damn that 1st movie is the scariest movie I've ever seen. I've watched the 1st hour of the game and it looks so intense. I'm not sure I'd even get through it.

The sound FX in this game are incredible.

I mean, the graphics are good, but chucking a pair of headphones on scares the brown coloured out of me.

Reminds me a bit of Doom 3 sound fx (which weren't as bad as you might remember).

Yup agreed. Although I enjoy it just as much if not more without headphones because the speakers create such a rumble that crashes and bangs and the Xeno rummaging in the vents creates a pounding feeling that you can feel in your chest :D

Doom 3 freaked me out:o

The only part I'm kind of not liking is the Android sections lol. Feels like a benny hill chase to me with them walking like the terminator towards me.

Eyefinity issue

I've spent 45 minutes tonight trying to get this game to launch properly, and I've now found a workaround, so thought I'd post in case other people run into this:

If I have 3 screens active (and merged in Eyefinity to provide a single 5760x1080 resolution), the game launches perfectly. If I have the same 3 screens running merged, but also have an extended 4th screen active (1920x1080), then the game sounds play when I try to launch the game, but the screen just shows a black/grey screen with film grain on it - no menu, background, nothing.

The solution at the moment is for me to disable a screen and run with just 3, but this means I can't watch Afterburner or emails on my 4th screen. I realise there aren't many people out there running this kind of 3+1 setup, but thought this was worth mentioning in case it saves them some time.

Now, to bed and then tomorrow I might actually get to play the game! :D
