Alien: Isolation...

Reading these comments esp the rift players Is so funny.

I love/hate scary games with FEAR and dead space being top ones though metro games have their moments.

Seems like an unusual foray away from a typical fps?
Should I get this game then?:D

well i haven't played since yesterday. too scary for me having seen an alien. now if i started or found a pulse rifle with a few hundred rounds that might make it a little easier on the nerves.

Avoiding the Androids is nerve racking enough. The moment one spots you his mates join in! Did this area a couple of times:

Sadly only way to get it <RIPLEY VS QUEEN FIGHT DLC> in UK right now is to buy the physical DVD-Rom from Game. I managed to only pay £29.99 & got both pieces of DLC so not too bad its gone back up to full price now though £34.99.

We're talking about the "Crew Expendable" DLC here are we?
I mean I've been searching for DLC thinking you could suit up in a mech to fight the Queen alien.
The former can be had in Steam already for £2.79 I think.

I blame Amnesia for this game failing to scare me yet. It's very enjoyable still, just not very scary.

Depends how easily scared you are I suppose.

My first alien encounter played with the lights off and headphones on, definitely sent my pulse racing in a way a game has never done before.

I've spent 45 minutes tonight trying to get this game to launch properly, and I've now found a workaround, so thought I'd post in case other people run into this:

If I have 3 screens active (and merged in Eyefinity to provide a single 5760x1080 resolution), the game launches perfectly. If I have the same 3 screens running merged, but also have an extended 4th screen active (1920x1080), then the game sounds play when I try to launch the game, but the screen just shows a black/grey screen with film grain on it - no menu, background, nothing.

The solution at the moment is for me to disable a screen and run with just 3, but this means I can't watch Afterburner or emails on my 4th screen. I realise there aren't many people out there running this kind of 3+1 setup, but thought this was worth mentioning in case it saves them some time.

Now, to bed and then tomorrow I might actually get to play the game! :D

Why not just enable the Rivatuna OSD with the temps, fps if you really need to know that whilst in-game?

This game is the perfect toy for learning how to Downsample!

Since the graphics aren't a crazy resource hog you can use your graphics control panel to create a custom resolution much higher than 1920 x 1080 (or whatever you normally use). I have this puppy running at 3200 x 1800 and it looks fantastic running at 60FPS and 76oC.

I'm not sure how to get rid of screen tearing just yet... hmm VSYNC just dropped me to 44FPS and it's not quite as smooth but good enough and variable VSync isn't doing much.

Its not the money its the time and commitment you need with this type of game I
just dont have. Playthroughs are like recording a TV program! You can skip the adverts/loading screens and you can skip the failures or boring bits. :p

You're contradicting yourself because you "don't have the time and commitment" to play it, yet you just watched TWENTY SIX HOURS of somebody else playing it.

And at the earliest, it's been out for 5-6 days so that's still 4-5 hours per day! That's longer than I get to play video games for!

Someone stop me from going insane and tell me how exactly you are meant to get past them people in Chapter 3? Crouching , trying to kill them, running through ALL RESULT in failure.

I can already tell I hate the human A.I in this game.

How do you get past people!?:mad::mad:

The big room where you pick up the hacking device?

Let the woman shoot at you and run away. Creep in and up to the left, go up the stairs to the room above the door you came in. Go out of that room and into the door directly opposite as you leave. You'll find some stairs, go down and you're done. Even if they see you go in this door, they will not follow you down the stairs.

You will have to come back through but "something" else will take care of them for you. ;)

I spent over an hour trying to kill them. Eventually lured them one by one out of the door and hit them with my wrench.

A few minutes later my mate did it the way I just described above.
