Alien: Isolation...

If you're using a 360 controller, when in a locker

1.) Pull back the 'left stick' to pull away from the vent
2.) Hold 'left trigger' to hold your breath

You'll notice the Xenomorph sniffs the vent and peers in and your screen will pulse red because Ripley is suffocating.

Ahhh my game crashed, so early on too. When I first found a flare and then it goes dark, tried to light it up and game CTD and since then not been able to reboot the game :(

Latest AMD drivers too. It was working fine earlier until I got to that stage.

A ban from what? It's not an online game so there is nothing to be banned from :p

I was always under the impression you take a chance regardless, although thinking about it this would be ridiculous with the likes of Skyrim

I take it moving back in the lockers/tool cabinets holds the breath by default which in turn lowers health if you stay like this or did I read something wrong?

Just died for the first time. Ran for a door and very nearly got the emergency lock, but he got me just before it closed!

Loving the game. It really is excellent. Not loving the save sysem though.

never mind, I just picked up the scanner, I can now see DOF working properly :)

And definitely roll with these edited ini lines, have done the changes to mine, reflections are so purdy now. Couple this with this sweetfx file http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/2219/, and the game is just simply stunning to another level. Just wish I could down sample with AMD cards to get rid of the jaggies.

To be honest, the save points are not really that far apart. If you think there is a long way from one to the next, there is probably another somewhere in between in a side room. I've made things more difficult for myself by not exploring more.

Hmm I haven't done that yet as I've managed to either be killed before getting in a locker or sneak past without needing to get in one :D

Is it still a PITA to get sweetfx working with W8.1 Tony?

Really don't think SweetFX is needed on this game!

Did you look at my post with the tutorial, in the comments you'll find an ATI guide.

Tried it, didn't work. (btw, you could've linked to your original post :))
Then again, I couldn't get CRU to work either, so maybe it depends on whatever monitor is being used?

Here's the instructions link for anyone that wants to try it: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=472941
The download link for AMDdownsamplingGUI is here: http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=9275444&postcount=4997

I tried all three versions. Perhaps there's a newer version somewhere else? This is going back to 2012 after all...

Just modified the Engine Settings as per the guide, what a difference .

Normally I would mate but my wife had just finished cooking breakfast. Thought I'd still help and it obviously was enough info for you to find it. Why didn't it work?

Here's an updated guide (post was updated a few months ago):
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=366244

I really hope you get it working because downsampling has made a massive difference on my end. I am stunned that AMD don't support this from CCC making it a PITA to get going.

Come on man, no need to get arsey.

No idea why it doesn't work for me, and yeah, they really do need to sort it out and get this feature in CCC...

Wow some of you are running the gamma way lower than you should be by the looks of it. Either that or your monitor settings are way out!

The above screenshot and Matson's screenshots are simply too dark!

Haha I typed it out and saw no need in it. Sorry bud. Did you try the updated link?

I thought the same too mrk. The comedy gold video in here was so dark I couldn't see the air vent access and thought they would walk right past it but he still found it. I'm guessing it's their screens.

Guys I'm stuck in medical really early on lol

I need to find a second keycard after whilst I'm looking for a trauma kit for the bint. The alien is all over this area and making my life very difficult and I can't seem to find the card I need to progress to the next area. Ran around for about 20 minutes and still can't find it! Ideas?

I'm stuck there too, it's solid!! Surely no one made it out of here on hard. Surely.

I tell you what, the FOV mod made that belly tail death so much more gorey.

I'm going to try this now!

Thank you so much for letting us know about this neoglow.

EDIT: Wow that was a piece of cake

No worries, I stumbled across it on the steam community hub. I think it's being discussed on the guru3d forum too.

Win 8.1 really is a bag of **** when it comes to modding.

That's weird, I was having issues when playing on Vista 64, it kept crashing all the time. ( I know I know Vista huh, I haven't made the full change over to Win 8.1 yet but got it on a dual boot) On Win 8.1 the game runs a lot better with the mods and - touch wood - haven't had a crash yet.

Edit: That med lab screenshot above is very dark, don't think it should be that dark, mine is a lot brighter in that section. With that darkness setting you won't see anything when u progress, some parts are very dark.
